He Will Lead You
I. John 16:13-The Holy Spirit
will lead you; You have Jesus’ word on it

Define Guide
1.
The Holy Spirit will be a guide to you, guide
you, and give you guidance
2.
The Holy Spirit will lead you, be a leader to
you, and lead on your way
3.
The Holy Spirit will show the way
4.
The Holy Spirit will be a conductor to you
5.
The Holy Spirit will be a teacher to you; A
teacher of the ignorant
B.
It is the job of the Holy Spirit to lead you
into all truth
1.
John 8:32-The truth will make you free
a.
It’s the job of the Holy Spirit to lead you
into a life where you are completely free
b.
Bondage to the curse is often times the
result of people not being led by the Spirit
2.
To be free in any situation it’s required
that I hear from the HS and yield to his leading
a.
Yeah you’ve been making your confessions, but
what have u heard from Him
b.
Speaking the Word of God positions you to
hear from God
c.
The Word from God is as important as the Word
of God
3.
John 8:44-There’s no truth in Him and when
you’re led in the truth you’re lead out of Satan’s plan, his desires, his way
4.
The better led by the Holy Spirit you are,
the more free you’ll be and the more freedom you’ll experience

Being insensitive to what we says or ignoring
what he says is a fast track to bondage
C.
The Holy Spirit helps some people a lot more
than he does others
1.
Jesus said when He comes He will guide you; That
tells me that He’s always guiding
a.
He doesn’t quit doing what He’s supposed to
do in response to a believer not doing what they’re supposed to do
b.
It’s never been that the Holy Spirit isn’t
talking it’s that we haven’t been sensitive to what He’s saying
2.
The Holy Spirit helps some more than others
b/c some people have learned to look to him, yield to him, & respond to him
a.
We need help from the Holy Spirit in this
life
b.
Are we taking advantage of that help and of
the helper?
D.
The primary way that the Holy Spirit leads us
is by speaking to us (not by signs, goose bumps, or outward circumstances, but
by talking to us)
1.
If He is speaking, then I have the potential
to hear what He is saying
II.
Romans 8:14-Sons of God are supposed to be led by the Spirit of God
A.
Mature believers are ones who are led by the
Holy Spirit
1.
The less led by the Holy Spirit you are the
more immature you are spiritually
2.
The more immature you are spiritually the
less you can have of what’s yours (inheritance)
B.
The Holy Spirit will lead you not drive you
1.
Led-To lead by laying hold of, and this way to
bring to the point of destination: of an animal, to lead with one's self,
attach to one's self as an attendant, to conduct, to lead, guide, direct
2.
The Holy Spirit is not going to lead you like
a dog on a leash
a.
A cattle herder drives the cattle a shepherd
leads the sheep
b.
His ministry is like a traffic light; a red
light won’t make you stop, it just suggests that you do
3.
He’ll be your own personal attendant; if you
didn’t need help God wouldn’t send it
a.
Some people are struggling so much because
they’re not using their help
4.
He’s your conductor (the orchestra doesn’t
move until the conductor does)
C.
We are to be led by the spirit of God and
nothing else-Being led by things other than the Spirit of God will lead you
into bondages of all kinds
1.
We are not to be led by feelings-Ephesians
4:26
a.
It feels good, I feel like I should, I don’t
feel like it is not the leading of the spirit
b.
Don’t allow the emotion of anger to lead you
into sin
c.
When you’re led by your feelings you give
place to the devil
2.
We are not to be led by our head-Proverbs 3:5
a.
Get natural knowledge, but don’t make
decisions based on it alone
b.
When it comes down to it if everything in the
natural is saying do it, but the Holy Spirit is saying no, then you say no
c.
You cannot know enough or be smart enough to
just make the best decisions
1)
In the natural you can’t know or see the
future and unless you can you can’t make the best decisions
2)
The Holy Spirit knows and if you’ll trust him
you can make the best decisions

We are not to be money led-Matthew 6:24

This job pays more, this one costs less, we
can’t sow that much what will we do
4.
We’re not to be led by circumstances-2
Corinthians 5:7
a.
When it doesn’t look like it’s working that
shouldn’t move you
b.
When it’s taking a long time that shouldn’t
move you

We’re not to be led by likes or dislikes-Psalm
40:8
a.
Just because you don’t like to do it doesn’t
mean that you’re not led to do it
b.
I delight to do thy will O God; If God likes
it I like it
6.
We’re not to be led by our
bellies-Philippians 3:19
a.
A lot of people are being led by their belly
and that’s why they end up sick
7.
We are not to be led by opportunities
a.
Just b/c an opportunity arises & it’s
good doesn’t mean you’re supposed 2 take it
8.
We are to be led internally not
externally-Romans 8:16
a.
We are not to put out fleeces
1)
Gideon wasn’t born again and he didn’t have
the spirit
2)
The enemy is in this physical realm and he
can do external things
b.
You don’t know whether it’s God based on the
door being opened or closed; That’s being led externally and not internally
1)
Just because the door is closed doesn’t mean
you’re not supposed to through
2)
Just b/c the door is opened doesn’t mean
you’re supposed to go through
9.
We are not to be led by other people’s
prophecies
a.
Just b/c somebody stands up and says thus
says the Lord doesn’t mean you believe it & do it
b.
All prophecies must be judged by: 1) The Word
2) The witness you have inside
D.
When you look to other things, external
things for leading it is irreverent to the Holy Spirit
1.
You’re telling Him that He’s not capable of
doing what Jesus told you He would do
2.
Looking to other things to be your leading is
like to an unsaved person looking to somebody other than Jesus to save them
E.
We need to look learn to look inward for
direction not outward
