God's Plan Is Progressive

Foundation Statement: God’s plan for your life is progressive-Happening or developing gradually or in stages, proceeding step by step

 

I.      Proverbs 4:18-The path of the just is like the daybreak, the dawn, the morning light that shines more and more, you could say progressively, NOT all at once-That means God’s plan for your life is progressive; It’s not stagnate, it’s not staying the same, it’s progressing more and more

A.    God’s plan is progressive, your assignment is progressive, your anointing is progressive

1.      ERV-The path of those who live right is like the early morning light. It gets brighter and brighter until the full light of day

II.     Psalm 115:14-God wants to add to you, He wants to increase you in assignment in anointing; He wants to increase your impact, he wants to use you greater and more, but He does it progressively in stages, step by step; He adds assignment and anointing in stages

A.    Where you are today it’s NOT God’s desire you ALWAYS be there – He wants to increase you and promote you to the greater-Psal75:6

B.     Because God’s plan is progressive there’s more on the path than what you see right now; There are things on His path for your life that are greater and more than what you are standing in right now; The progressive plan means is there’s all kinds of stuff you don’t see and haven’t gotten into yet that God has for you and the only way to get to is to keep taking steps down the path

C.    Acts 20:35-And you want this too – You got to get more hungry for this (increase) than you are for anything else; Hungry for more assignment, for more anointing to be used more 

III.   So often the steps we are on are preparation for the next; Each step God is training you, teaching you, preparing you, for the next step

A.    The steps that lead you to where you are going are actually training you and preparing you for the things you’re going to

1.      The nature and tendency of the flesh is want to skip steps and immaturity always thinks it’s ready for a step that it’s not ready for  

2.      There’ stuff on the your path that were you to go straight to at the stage of develop you are right now you couldn’t handle it; but if you stay on the path and take the next step by the time you get there God will have you ready for it and to flourish in it

3.      God will get you ready so He can give you the promotion

B.     David’s progression-1.He’s got a sheep watching anointing and assignment 2.Plays for Saul 3.He’s got a Goliath slaying anointing and assignment 4.He became commander over 1,000-1 Sam18:13 5.He could kill Saul and doesn’t 6.David destroyed the Amalekites 7.He’s anointed King over Judah 8.He’s anointed king over Israel after the civil war (Supposedly he was anointed king at 10 and didn’t step into that office until some 30 years later)-How did he go from shepherd to king? There was a path for him and he walked down it

C.    Joseph’s progression-1.God gives him a dream at 17 2.Thrown In a pit 3.Sold as a slave to Potiphar 11 years or less 4.Was in prison 2 years or more 5.Was made overseer of Egypt at 30

1.      Joseph started at the bottom in Potiphar’s house and got promoted because he was faithful

2.      Potiphar’s wife-Anytime you’re progressing the enemy will try to stop it

3.      Thrown in prison-To the natural eye this looks like he’s getting further away from his dream but in reality he’s one step closer
