God's Plan Is Progressive
Foundation Statement: God’s plan for your life
is progressive-Happening or developing
gradually or in stages, proceeding step by step
I.
Proverbs 4:18-The path of
the just is like the daybreak, the dawn, the morning light that shines
more and more, you could say progressively, NOT all at once-That means
God’s plan for your life is progressive; It’s not stagnate, it’s not staying
the same, it’s progressing more and more
A. God’s plan is
progressive, your assignment is progressive, your anointing is progressive
1.
ERV-The path of those who
live right is like the early morning light. It gets brighter and brighter until
the full light of day
II.
Psalm 115:14-God wants to
add to you, He wants to increase you in assignment in anointing; He wants to
increase your impact, he wants to use you greater and more, but He does it
progressively in stages, step by step; He adds assignment and anointing in
stages
A. Where you are today it’s
NOT God’s desire you ALWAYS be there – He wants to increase you and
promote you to the greater-Psal75:6
B. Because God’s plan is
progressive there’s more on the path than what you see right now; There are
things on His path for your life that are greater and more than what you are
standing in right now; The progressive plan means is there’s all kinds of stuff
you don’t see and haven’t gotten into yet that God has for you and the only way
to get to is to keep taking steps down the path
C. Acts 20:35-And you want
this too – You got to get more hungry for this (increase) than you are
for anything else; Hungry for more assignment, for more anointing to be used
more
III.
So often the steps we are
on are preparation for the next; Each step God is training you, teaching you,
preparing you, for the next step
A. The steps that lead you
to where you are going are actually training you and preparing you for the
things you’re going to
1.
The
nature and tendency of the flesh is want to skip steps and immaturity always
thinks it’s ready for a step that it’s not ready for
2.
There’
stuff on the your path that were you to go straight to at the stage of develop
you are right now you couldn’t handle it; but if you stay on the path and take
the next step by the time you get there God will have you ready for it and to
flourish in it
3.
God
will get you ready so He can give you the promotion
B. David’s progression-1.He’s got a sheep watching anointing and assignment 2.Plays
for Saul 3.He’s got a Goliath slaying anointing and assignment 4.He became
commander over 1,000-1 Sam18:13 5.He could kill Saul and doesn’t 6.David
destroyed the Amalekites 7.He’s anointed King over Judah 8.He’s anointed king
over Israel after the civil war (Supposedly he was anointed king at 10 and
didn’t step into that office until some 30 years later)-How did he go from shepherd to king? There was a path for him and he
walked down it
C. Joseph’s progression-1.God gives him a dream at 17 2.Thrown In a pit 3.Sold as a
slave to Potiphar 11 years or less 4.Was in prison 2 years or more 5.Was made
overseer of Egypt at 30
1.
Joseph
started at the bottom in Potiphar’s house and got promoted because he was
faithful
2.
Potiphar’s
wife-Anytime you’re progressing the enemy will try to stop it
3.
Thrown
in prison-To the natural eye this looks like he’s getting further away from his
dream but in reality he’s one step closer
4.
Joseph
started at the bottom in prison but was promoted because he was faithful
