We Still Got Our Faith
I.
The spirit of faith
retains faith in it’s darkest hour-(2 Corinthians
4:8-Perplexed, but not in despair)
A. These perplexing
circumstances never got in the them and (robbed them) took their faith
1.
We
don’t know what to do or which way to go and don’t have anything --- This is
the state that they are in
a. Perplexed-Don’t know where to go, Don’t know what to do, We are
without resources
b. Despair-To renounced all hope, A hopeless state, Destitute of hope
or expectation
B. **We
don’t know where to go, we don’t know what to do, and we don’t have any
resources, but we still have our faith**
II.
No amount of negative
circumstances has ever caused anybody to lose faith; people lose faith because
they chose to let go of it not because of negative circumstances; People allow
their circumstances to cause them to let go of their faith-Hebrews 10:35,38
A. **You can hold onto your
faith and retain your faith in the darkest hour, if you will**
1.
Why
would God have to tell us to not cast away and let go of our faith? Obviously
you’re going to be tempted to do it
2.
Don’t
cast it away; that means if you let go of it, it was your choice and you didn’t
have to
a. If you’re tempted to let
go of your faith do you have to let it go? NO. And If
you did let go, did you have to let it go? NO
B. The reason people let go
of their faith is because they are weak spiritually
C. **God gets pleasure in
the ones who in their darkest hour won’t let go of their faith**
III.
The spirit of faith
recognizes that the current state of my circumstances is unrelated to my
decision to believe or not believe; I can believe and retain my faith anytime,
anywhere I want no matter what’s going on and that’s my choice-John 20:25
A. I have the ability to
believe and can believe no matter what circumstance I find myself in
1.
Faith
is a choice and you can choose to believe in the midst of any circumstance
you’re facing
B. Even though they don’t
know where to go and they don’t know what to do, this doesn’t have anything to
do with their ability to believe or their willingness to believe; they can
believe right in the middle of that if they will
1.
What
do negative circumstances have to do with your unbelief? Nothing. You could
have chose to believe just as easily.
2.
Negative
circumstances will never justify unbelief
IV.
In this dark hour we have
retained our greatest possession; We don’t known where to go, we don’t know
what to do, and we don’t have any resources, but we are not without faith-1
John 5:4
A. **With your faith we can
find out where to go, what to do, and get what we need and overcome**
B. **If we let go our faith,
then we’ve lost the means by which we succeed and overcome**
1.
The
question that we need to answer is not do you have your healing or do you have
the money? The question we need to answer is do you have faith? Because if you
do we can get the healing and the money
V.
A person with the spirit
of faith; it’s hard to take faith from them because faith is not just something
they possess it’s who they are
A. You’re trying to take
faith from me, but faith is me and me is faith
1.
Faith
has become who I am and that makes it very hard for the enemy to get faith from
me
B. This way of life, this
reliance on God, this confidence in God, this dependence on God has become who I
am
1.
Hebrews
5:12-14-I’m seeing, I’m thinking, I’m choosing (judging), I’m understanding now
based on this training that my “senses” have God by reason of practice; so I’ve
practice so much that this has become who I am and it works automatically
2.
James
1:21-This training about faith I got from the Word and I took this word of
faith and through instruction and practice joined it to my soul for enough time
where now faith has been grafted in and two have become one and faith has
become who I am
C. Faith has gotten so deep
in me that it’s governing everything that I do, it’s been melded to my spirit
and you’re trying to get it, but it’s too late because it’s become who I am
