No Love

There are two major areas
where money must never get place: YOUR LOVE, YOUR TRUST-1 Timothy 6:10-18
A. It’s our relationship
with money and the place we give it that God is interested in
B. He never said don’t have,
it said that which you have enjoy, be ready to distribute willing to
communicate
C. Loving and trusting in
money will keep you from sowing your best, only, and all; it will keep God from
your treasure and it’ll keep you from His

Money never gets the
place my love
A. If money has the place of
your love it has been improperly placed
1. Matthew 22:36, Luke
6:30-Your love is reserved for God and people
2. 1 John 2:15-It didn’t say
don’t have thing, it said don’t love them
a. That’s perverse when you
love things more than God and people
3. Proverbs 21:17-When you
give money and the things the place of your love it puts a law into motion that will work to keep you from being rich; that
law will work until you relinquish that love and get it in it’s proper place
a. You don’t get rich by
attaching yourself to money, you get rich by be willing to let go and sow

Do you love money?
Another area where people are in self-deception
A. What do you give to it?
– John 3:16
1. What are you giving to
money that you’re not giving to God?
2. Love always has giving
with it; energy, time, effort, promptness
3. EX: Your job gets 40
hours a week, but you can’t give God 4 hour
B. Have you chosen it or
preferred it? – Matthew 6:24
1. God wanted one thing, but
money wanted another and you chose it
2. It’s gotten this bad; we
don’t even bother to ask God and just assume that the most money must be right
C. Have you made it primary
in your life and in turn express yourself by implicit obedience to its
commands? – John 14:15
1. Will it move in areas
where God can’t seem to move you?
2. EX: You wouldn’t stay in
faith b/c the Word says to, but you’ll worry because money says to
3. EX: You wouldn’t come
done church because the man God called and sent to be your Pastor is having a
service for your spiritual growth and edification, but you would have came for
$1000
4. Are you most interested
in it?
D. Do you disregard your
feelings in favor of it? – Matthew 6:24-Serve
1. You go to work
disregarding your feelings; do you ever disregard your feelings and do what God
wants
E. Are you attached to it,
committed to it, and holding fast to it? – Matthew 6:24
1. Are you unwilling to
abandon it or let go it?
2. That which you don’t love
you’ll be willing to let go of
IV.
Mark 10:25-Jesus is
showing this guy what place money and things have in his life
A. The rich young ruler
1. You can tell by his
running and kneeling that something’s missing in his life and he desperately
wants to obtain this
2. The way this question is
worded in the KJ makes you think his question only concerning the other side of
eternity
B. The lawyer with the same
question-Luke10:25
1. The answer to this
question is to Keep the commandment of love
2. The question is the same
but the motive is different
C. The one he lacked was
this commandment of love; it wasn’t one thing he lacked it was one commandment
he lacked
1. Jesus gives this guy
little to know time, while the rich young ruler he takes the time to
specifically show him where his violating this commandment
a. If the rich young ruler
was keeping the commandment of love, he’d have it and not be asking for it; so
clearly he’s missing it somewhere where this commandment of love is concerned
2. Love God with all your
strength-Deut 6:5-might-Resources, Abundance
a. He didn’t love God with
all of his strength-resources or stuff
b. He loved his money and
possessions more than he loved God; he held
to his stuff and despised Jesus; he preferred one to the other; Because he
held to it and preferred it we know he loved it
D. Love and Grief
1. Grief is associated with
the loss of what you love
a. You don’t grieve over the
death of someone you didn’t know because you don’t have a relationship of love
with them

If
he didn’t love his stuff there would be no grief about losing it
b. He’s grieving because
what he wants is going to cost him what he loves the most; The thought of
losing his possessions cause him grief
2. Grief comes when you
think you’re losing something
a. He thought he was losing
it and would never see it again
3. Through his love for
money he put a law into motion that’s working to keep him from being rich
a. He’s not even rich in
finances and things because to truly be rich in money and things you have it,
it doesn’t have you
E. If he would have proved
to Jesus that he loved Him more than this money & stuff; He’d of been 100x
richer than he ever was
1. B/C money was ahead of
Jesus & out of place he wasn’t qualified to handle the 100 fold
2. If he’d been willing to
put Jesus ahead of all his money and possessions it would have proven him
qualified to handle 100 times more
3. The person who’s willing
to leave everything for God is the one who can handle the hundred fold; the
hundredfold is only for those who God has 100% of
