Locating Purpose

FOUNDATION STATEMENT: The purpose of financial must be established and in place for us see it work at its highest level

 

I.      The purpose of financial prosperity

A.    When the purpose of a thing isn’t in place perversion and misuse will result

1.     EX: Toilet, Vacuum cleaner

B.     When something is perverted and misused it will bring about destruction          

1.     If I eat my dinner on that toilet destruction could be the result

C.    If a purpose for financial prosperity is not in place perversion and misuse will manifest and destruction will be the result

1.     If you’ll locate and establish the purpose for a thing you’re in position to see that thing work at its maximum potential

a.    You’re reaching your maximum potential in enjoying things and in being a blessing on the Earth

2.     Religion tells you that you can’t have both of those things; maximum enjoyment and maximum being a blessing 

II.     God gives us richly all things “To” (revealing purpose) enjoy

A.    The word “to” always reveals purpose

1.     Psalm 8:61, 1 John 3:8

B.     There’s nothing wrong with enjoying things that you possess; There’s something wrong in loving and trusting in things

1.     Enjoy-Enjoy pleasures, possess with satisfaction, pleasure and delight

2.     John 10:10 (AMP) – Jesus came so that we could have and enjoy life

3.     Psalm 16:11-Pleasures-Pleasant, delightful, sweet, lovely, beautiful (physical)

C.    I don’t need things to enjoy life, that would be trusting in things to supply me with joy and fulfillment-That’s the wrong relationship with things; I enjoy things, but I don’t look to things as the source of my enjoyment

1.     One of the greatest enjoyment of things is that it’s a manifestation of the Father’s love and that’s what I really enjoy

a.    A lot of these things are not things I need, but things that my father gave to me because he loves me and he knew I would enjoy them

b.    Matthew 7:11 – Gifts aren’t things that you need; Giving is based on the love of the giver not on the need of the receiver

2.     Luke 12:15 – My life doesn’t consist in the things that I possess, but God wants me to richly have things to enjoy

D.    One of the dangers of not understanding that one purpose of prosperity is to enjoy it is that you block the Father’s love in your life

1.     Everything that God wants to bless your with doesn’t have some divine purpose for you to reach the world with; some things that God blesses you with have the sole purpose of your enjoyment

2.     Enjoyment is a scriptural reason for you to have things in the Earth

III.   God also gives us all things richly to enjoy so that we can be rich in good works

A.    God wants to make you rich so that you can be rich in good works

1.     The problem with many believers is that they’d like to be rich in good works, but the refuse being rich

a.    Rich in good works – To be rich, to have abundance of outward possessions; To be richly supplied; Affluent in resources so that he can give the blessings of salvation to all

1)       Affluent-Flowing in abundance; having a generously sufficient, typically increasing supply of material possessions

b.    God wants you to be lavish, great, extravagant, enormous, awesome, immense in good works

1)       To richly distribute I have to be richly supplied

2)       I can’t tell you to fill up all these cups of water richly and then supply you with one small pitcher of water

2.     We are God’s/Heaven’s distribution centers in the Earth and if you don’t have it He doesn’t have it

a.    You cannot distribute that which you do not have

b.    God needs you full and rich and ready

c.     EX: The water plant wants to fill the water pipes; the water pipe that distributes water from the water plant is always full

B.     Enjoy the things you have, but be ready and willing

1.     Ready to distribute

a.    God wants you ready; that means when someone is in need you’re ready with the provision necessary to meet the need

2.     Willing to communicate

a.    Willingness to give shows that the thing you’re giving doesn’t have you, but you have it

b.    Willing implies being please to do it

3.     This is the way you’ll really enjoy your things (Acts 20:35)

C.    Living the life of a distributor is how you got rich in the first place

1.     Ephesians 6:8, Galatians 6:7, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:6

IV.   The level of blessing that you walk in your life will determine the level of blessing that you

A.    BALANCE: God wants me to possess things in abundance and enjoy them.  My life doesn’t consist in the abundance of things I have.  I’m a distribution center in the Earth.  And at the same time he wants me to enjoy things.
