Locating Purpose
FOUNDATION STATEMENT: The
purpose of financial must be established and in place for us see it work at its
highest level
I.
The purpose of financial
prosperity
A. When the purpose of a
thing isn’t in place perversion and misuse will result
1. EX: Toilet, Vacuum cleaner
B. When something is
perverted and misused it will bring about destruction
1. If I eat my dinner on
that toilet destruction could be the result
C. If a purpose for
financial prosperity is not in place perversion and misuse will manifest and
destruction will be the result
1.
If you’ll locate
and establish the purpose for a thing you’re in position to see
that thing work at its maximum potential
a.
You’re reaching your maximum potential in enjoying
things and in being a blessing on the Earth
2.
Religion tells you that you can’t have both of those
things; maximum enjoyment and maximum being a blessing
II.
God gives us richly all
things “To” (revealing purpose) enjoy
A. The word “to” always
reveals purpose
1. Psalm 8:61, 1 John 3:8
B. There’s nothing wrong
with enjoying things that you possess; There’s something wrong in loving and
trusting in things
1. Enjoy-Enjoy pleasures,
possess with satisfaction, pleasure and delight
2. John 10:10 (AMP) –
Jesus came so that we could have and enjoy life
3. Psalm 16:11-Pleasures-Pleasant, delightful, sweet, lovely,
beautiful (physical)
C. I don’t need things to
enjoy life, that would be trusting in things to supply me with joy and
fulfillment-That’s the wrong relationship with things; I enjoy things, but I
don’t look to things as the source of my enjoyment
1. One of the greatest
enjoyment of things is that it’s a manifestation of the Father’s love and
that’s what I really enjoy
a. A lot of these things are
not things I need, but things that my father gave to me because he loves me and
he knew I would enjoy them
b. Matthew 7:11 –
Gifts aren’t things that you need; Giving is based on the love of the giver not
on the need of the receiver
2. Luke 12:15 – My
life doesn’t consist in the things that I possess, but God wants me to richly
have things to enjoy
D. One of the dangers of not
understanding that one purpose of prosperity is to enjoy it is that you block
the Father’s love in your life
1. Everything that God wants
to bless your with doesn’t have some divine purpose for you to reach the world
with; some things that God blesses you with have the sole purpose of your
enjoyment
2. Enjoyment is a scriptural
reason for you to have things in the Earth
III.
God also gives us all
things richly to enjoy so that we can be rich in good works
A. God wants to make you
rich so that you can be rich in good works
1. The problem with many
believers is that they’d like to be rich in good works, but the refuse being
rich
a. Rich in good works – To be rich, to
have abundance of outward possessions; To be richly supplied; Affluent in resources
so that he can give the blessings of salvation to all
1)
Affluent-Flowing in abundance; having a generously sufficient,
typically increasing supply of material possessions
b. God wants you to be
lavish, great, extravagant, enormous, awesome, immense in good works
1)
To
richly distribute I have to be richly supplied
2)
I
can’t tell you to fill up all these cups of water richly and then supply you
with one small pitcher of water
2. We are God’s/Heaven’s
distribution centers in the Earth and if you don’t have it He doesn’t have it
a. You cannot distribute
that which you do not have
b. God needs you full and
rich and ready
c. EX: The water plant wants
to fill the water pipes; the water pipe that distributes water from the water
plant is always full
B. Enjoy the things you have,
but be ready and willing
1. Ready to distribute
a. God wants you ready; that
means when someone is in need you’re ready with the provision necessary to meet
the need
2. Willing to communicate
a. Willingness to give shows
that the thing you’re giving doesn’t have you, but you have it
b. Willing implies being
please to do it
3. This is the way you’ll
really enjoy your things (Acts 20:35)
C. Living the life of a
distributor is how you got rich in the first place
1. Ephesians 6:8, Galatians
6:7, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:6
IV.
The level of blessing
that you walk in your life will determine the level of blessing that you
A. BALANCE: God wants me to
possess things in abundance and enjoy them. My life doesn’t consist in the abundance
of things I have. I’m a
distribution center in the Earth.
And at the same time he wants me to enjoy things.
