Character Conscious
I.
We have to walk in
conscious integrity and conscious character-Psalm 18:20-24 (AMP)
A. Conscious – Done or acting
with critical awareness, likely to notice, consider, or appraise, being
concerned or interested (weight-conscious models)
B. We nee to be character
conscious Christians
II. We have to be conscious of what we’re doing if we’re going to
be people of character and integrity (2 Chronicles 19:7)
A. Pay attention and take
heed to what you’re doing
1.
It
didn’t say pay attention to “God knows my heart”
2.
Too
many times believers mistake “God knows my heart” for what they did
3.
Pay
attention to what you do b/c what you do reveals your true character
B. Develop in situational
awareness
1.
Situational
awareness about your words, your thoughts, your actions and how they reveal
your character
2.
Become
very aware of your words and actions and how your character now is effecting
your life later
C. What is your character
revealing to the Father?
1.
Is
it saying that you can’t be trusted with the greater?
2.
Make
the connection between your character today and your reward, your assignment,
and your anointing tomorrow
3.
We
ought to do everything with respect to God, faithfully, & w/ a perfect
heart
III. He stayed a person of character by keeping the word before
him at all times-Psalm 18:22
A. If we’re going to be
people of character we’re going to have to keep this word before our eyes
1.
He
kept the standard before his eyes at all times
2.
This
word is the standard of character
B. Your thoughts determine
your way and if you have the word before you all the time, then your thoughts
will be line with it, and your character will be in line with it (Romans 8:5,
Isaiah 55:8)
IV. We have to be EVER ON GUARD where character is concerned
A. Satan is working 24 hours
a day to get you out of character, therefore you have to work 24 hours a day
with the Holy Spirit to stay character
B. If he can disrupt you
character he can keep you from greater rewards, greater assignments, and
greater anointing
V. Every born-again person is the righteousness of God, but we
need to notice that the reward, the assignment, and the anointing comes to
people of character
A. Psalm
18:24-Therefore-Whatfore? Because
he was a person of character therefore
1.
Psalm
18:24-Recompense – to return, turn back, to bring back, allow to return,
give back, restore, relinquish, give in payment, make requital, pay (as
recompense)
B. The seeds of character I
sow will harvest back to me in greater reward, greater assignment, and greater anointing
1.
Low-level
of character = Low level of rewards
2.
Low-level
of character = Low level of assignment
3.
Low-level
of character = Low level of anointing
