Redemptive Rights

FOUNDATION STATEMENT: We have to develop a redeemed mindset, a total victory mindset.  We’ve have to think blessed not cursed.  – Galatians 3:13

 

I.      Everything that came on the Earth through Adam’s sin Jesus redeemed us from or bought us out of  (Galatians 3:13)

A.    Redeemed-Buyer or redeemer who has gone to the slave market to purchase a slave for the sole purpose of bringing them out of that place of slavery so he can be set free; permanent removal from captivity; Jesus’ death didn’t only pay the penalty for our sin, it removed us from living under the curse, to redeem by payment of a price to recover from the power of another, to ransom, buy off

1.     Christ has already redeemed us; our redemption is eternal (Hebrews 9:12)

2.     Man was deemed free in the Garden and Jesus “RE” deemed man taking him back to the Garden of Eden

B.     What are you redeemed from (Deuteronomy 28:15)

1.     Redeemed from defeat and failure---Romans 8:37, 1 John 4:4, 5:1

2.     Redeemed from sickness and disease---1 Pet 2:24, Matt 8:17, Is 53:5, Ps 91:10

3.     Redeemed from poverty and lack---2 Corinthians 8:9, 9:8-11, 1 Timothy 6:17

4.     Redeemed from borrowing---Romans 13:8, 2 Corinthians 9:8, Proverbs 22:7

5.     Redeemed from sowing much and reaping little---2 Corinthians 9:6, Luke 6:38

6.     Redeemed from fear, worry, and anxiety---Heb 2:14-15, John 14:1, 1 John 4:18

7.     Redeemed from stress, no ease, and no rest---Phil 4:6-8, John 14:27, 1 Pet 5:6-8

8.     Redeemed from discouragement and sorrow of mind---John 16:22, 1 Peter 1:8

9.     Redeemed from none assurance of life---Psalm 91:10,11,16, 103:4, Proverbs 3:25, John 10:18, Proverbs 19:23, John 17:15

10.  Redeemed from an unsound, uneasy, mind or loss of mind-2 Tim 1:7, Ps 103:5, Jn 14:26

13.  Redeemed from no authority and being under the devil’s foot---Luke 10:19, Matthew 28:18, Ephesians 1:18-21, Phil 2:6-8

C.    Christ redeemed us so that the blessing of Abraham might come on us (Galatians 3:14, Deuteronomy 28:1-14)

II.     Rights of redemption

A.    Jesus legally bought me out of the curse and redemption is rightfully mine

1.     1 Peter 1:18-19-Redemption wasn’t free and it wasn’t cheap

a.    Isaiah 52:3 – You were redeemed without money

b.    We have redemption through his blood (Eph 1:7, Colossians 1:14)

1)       It cost him his blood and his life – Hebrews 9:15

2.     It cost Jesus his precious blood

a.    God gave the most precious thing Heaven had to offer because he wanted you and wanted you free

1)       It’s going to cost you a man who did no wrong, because if he did wrong he has to die for his own sins

2)       God said it’s worth it to me; Jesus said it’s worth it to me

3)       Isaiah 53:10-12 – It pleased God because you were worth it

b.    To say you’re not worth it is to disagree with God and it’s to question His very wisdom; To God I’m worth it

1)       I must be worth it because the God of all wisdom and understanding gave the most precocious thing Heaven had to offer

c.     The value of the thing is seen in what you give up to get it

1)       Your worth is not for you to determine; you worth was determined by Jesus when he gave his precious blood for you

d.    To say you’re not worthy is dishonorable, unbelief, and false humility

B.     Redemption is not some privilege that I have but don’t deserve; it’s my legal right through what Jesus did; THE REDEEMED THINK IN TERMS OF REDEMPTION IS MY RIGHT

1.     Every thing that Jesus obtained for me he paid the price for; he got it honestly and justly; He legally got my redemption by paying the price for it

2.     Jesus gave redemption to me by grace (Ephesians 2:8, Romans 3:24, 4:16)

a.    He rightfully got it and gave it to me so that means it’s rightfully mine and gave me the title deed to it with his Word

1)       If  you give somebody a car and the title to it is rightfully theirs even they didn’t earn it

b.    Once you receive Jesus as your Lord redemption is rightfully yours

1)       It’s rightfully mine because Jesus paid the full price for it and gave it to me as an act of his own will

3.     There was a great exchange; the grace/faith exchange

a.    Jesus took my sin and gave me his righteousness (2 Corinthians 5:21)

b.    Jesus took my sickness and gave me his healing (1 Pet 2:24, Matt 8:17)

c.     Jesus took my poverty and gave me his prosperity (2 Corinthians 8:9)

d.    Jesus took my trouble heart and gave me his peace (John 14:27)

e.    Jesus took my sorrow and gave me his joy (John 16:22)

f.      Jesus took my defeat and gave me his victory (2 Corinthians 2:14)

g.    Jesus took spiritual death and gave me spiritual life (Ph 2:8, John 3:16)

4.     This doesn’t have anything to do with what you deserve this is by grace; it has to do with what’s rightfully yours through redemption

a.    We need to get out of this weak phony holy mentality of “I don’t deserve.” Grace insinuates that you don’t deserve it.

b.    That which you believe you don’t deserve or have right to will manifest in you refusing to take rightful ownership of

c.     I didn’t earn it, but it doesn’t mean it’s not rightfully mine

d.    I deserve it and it’s rightfully mine because of what he did

C.    The redeemed are supposed to be redeemed; the redeemed are supposed to be in bondage to the curse; THE REDEEMED THINK IN TERMS OF I’M SUPPOSED TO BE REDEEMED (Luke 13:11-16)

1.     Jesus called her to him; He stopped right in the middle of his teaching

a.    Luke 17:13-The ten lepers called him

b.    Luke 4:33 – The man in the synagogue with the unclean spirit came to him

c.     Luke 4:38 – They came to him for Peter’s mother in law

d.    Matthew 4:24 – They brought the sick people to him

e.    John 2:3 – Mary brought the issue of no wine to him

f.      Matthew 8:1 – The leper came to him

g.    Matthew 9:1 – Those friends brought the guy on the stretcher to him

h.     Matthew 12:9 – They brought the man with the withered hand to his attention

i.       Luke 6:17-19 – The people came to him

j.       Matthew 8:5 – The centurion came to him about his servant

k.     Matthew 8:16 – They brought the sick and the possessed with devils to him

l.       Luke 7:12-15 – Jesus went to the widow’s son

m.   Mark 4:35-41 – When he stilled the storm the disciples came to him

n.     Matthew 14:36 – They brought him the diseased

o.    Luke 8:49 – Jairus came to him

p.    Luke 8:41 – The woman with the issue of blood came to him

q.    Matthew 9:27 – The two blind men came to him

r.      Matthew 9:32 – They brought a dumb man possessed with a devil to him

s.      Matthew 14:15 – They brought the fishes and loaves to him

t.      Matthew 14:14 – The sick multitudes followed him

u.     Mark 7:25 – The Greek Syrophenician woman came to him about her daughter

v.     Matthew 15:30 – The great multitudes came to him

w.   Mark 7:32, 8:22 – They brought the one deaf and the one blind to him

x.     Mark 9:23 – The Father came to Jesus about his son

y.     John 9:1 – He noticed that blind man, but his disciples question stopped him

z.      John 11 – They came to him about Lazarus

aa. Luke 14:1 – This guy with the dropsy got healed was in front of Jesus

bb. Luke 22:51 – When that guy got his ear cut off Jesus went to him

cc.  Luke 5:4 – He want to Peter, but Peter had to respond about the great catch

2.     Ought – It is necessary, there is need of, is right and proper; necessity established by the counsel and decree of God

a.    She’s a daughter of Abraham, in covenant with God, and she’s not supposed to be bound by Satan

b.    Jesus was saying that this is how it’s supposed to be; this is her right

3.     Galatians 3:29 – If you be Christ’s then you are Abraham’s seed

a.    You’re supposed to be healed, rich, victorious, blessed; that’s right

b.    Galatians 4:4-7, Romans 8:17, John 16:15, Luke 15:31 – That redemption made you a son of God and a joint heir with Jesus

III.   That’s what makes Satan an oppressive thief because he comes to steal things that are rightfully yours (John 10:10, Acts 10:38, Isaiah 54:14)

A.    Oppression-The spoiling or taking away of men’s goods by terror or force without having right thereto by working on the ignorance, weakness, or fearfulness of the oppress

1.     Satan comes to steal what’s rightfully yours, with no right to do it

a.    The only way he can get what’s rightfully yours is if you give it to him

2.     Isaiah 54:14-Get established in your rights you’ll far from oppression. You won’t let the enemy come and take things that are rightfully yours.

a.    Righteous-To be just, be righteous, to have a just cause, be in the right, to be justified, vindicate the cause of, justice, righteousness (in a case or cause), righteousness (as ethically right), righteousness (as vindicated) of God, of prosperity (of people)

b.    Established-To be firm, be stable, be fixed, to be firmly established, be stable, be secure, be enduring, be securely determined, to be directed aright, be fixed aright, be steadfast (moral sense), to prepare, be ready, be arranged, be settled, be fastened

3.     Believers haven’t known their rights, they don’t see them as rights, and consequently they don’t fight for their rights

a.    When redemption becomes a reality to you and the price Jesus paid becomes a reality to you and your redemptive rights become a reality to you there’s going to be a fighting spirit that rises up within you when the enemy comes to steal what’s yours

B.     Satan works on the weakness, ignorance, or fearfulness of the oppressed 

1.     Ignorance-Not knowing your rights and how receive them (Hosea 4:6)

a.    People are cut off from things that are rightfully theirs because of what they don’t know

1)       People don’t know that their words cut them off, their strife cuts them off, their fear and unbelief cuts them off

2)       Job 3:25-Job didn’t know fear was the connector to the oppression

b.    The importance of knowledge and understanding

1)       Proverbs 2:2 – Apply your heart to understanding

2)       Proverbs 2:6 – Out of God’s mouth comes understanding

3)       Proverbs 2:11 – Understanding will keep you

4)       Proverbs 3:13 – That man who has understanding is happy

5)       Proverbs 4:1 – Attend to know understanding

6)       Proverbs 4:5-7 – In all your getting get understanding

7)       Proverbs 5:1 – Submit your ear to understanding

8)       Proverbs 10:13 – A person who lacks understanding will pay the price

9)       Proverbs 13:13 – Whosoever despise the Word shall be destroyed

10)     Proverbs 15:14 – The guy who has understanding seeks knowledge through the Word, but the fool feeds on foolishness

11)     Proverbs 16:16 – The value of understanding

12)     Proverbs 16:22 – Understanding is a well spring of life 

13)     Proverbs 17:27 – A man of understanding has an excellent spirit

14)     Proverbs 18:2 – A fool has no delight in understanding, but only in his own opinions

15)     Proverbs 19:8 – The guy who keeps understanding will find good

16)     Proverbs 21:16 – That man who wonders away from understanding will remain in the congregation of the dead

2.     Weak spirits/lazy/not doing what you know – Fight for your rights

a.    The enemy comes to oppress and often times peoples spirits are weak, their faith is weak, and they can’t fight and win

1)       You need a strong spirit so when it’s time to fight you’re ready

b.    Fight the fight of faith and take your redemption (1 Tim 6:12)

1)       Eternal life includes everything you’re redeemed from

2)       Don’t relinquish your rights by getting in to fear or unbelief; your redemptive rights are accessed by faith

c.     People have weak, malnourished spirits because they’re not fed on the word, their not exercised, and they’re not rested

1)       Galatians 6:9 – If you don’t faint, you’ll win

2)       Proverbs 24:10 – If you faint your strength was small

3)       Proverbs 18:14 – A strong spirit will sustain you

3.     Fear – Never get into fear are show signs of fear that’s Satan’s access card

a.    If you get out of love and over into fear you are vulnerable to oppression (1 John 4:18, Isaiah 54:14, 1 Peter 5:8, James 3:16)

b.    Phil 1:28 (AMP) – Fearlessness is evidence that you’re going to win

c.     Isaiah 43:1-Fear not for I have redeemed you

IV.   The curse has no business operating in the life of a believer

A.    What Jesus did in the crucifixion and resurrection is far greater than what Satan did to Adam in the Garden of Eden (Rom 5:20-21, Eph 1:19, Isa 54:14, Ps 91)

1.     What Satan did to mankind in the Garden brought us to a fallen state

a.    A state bondage, oppression, sickness, fear, lack, death, no authority

2.     What Jesus did for mankind raised us up together with him (Trumped it)

a.    A state of redemption, authority, healing, abundance, victory, blessing

b.    Jesus got it all back and then some (1 John 3:8)

3.     The idea is that what Jesus did was far greater than what Satan did in that it we’re back to that risen state

a.    As terrible as that fallen state was, what Jesus did was far greater

B.     We need to be more redeemed-conscious and less curse-conscious

1.     I’m more conscious of my redemption than I am of the curse, because what God did in Jesus in the crucifixion and resurrection is far greater than what Satan did to Adam in the Garden of Eden

a.    Be more conscious of the answer than the problem; the victory than the battle

2.     We must stop thinking from that fallen state; To think from that fallen state would be to say that what Satan did was greater

C.    It’s time to operate with a redeemed mindset

1.     Redemption mentality

a.    John 17:17-You’re in an evil world, but untouched by the evil

b.    Proverbs 19:23-You fear the Lord and you cannot be visited with evil

c.     1 John 5:18-You keep yourself in the protected place and the wicked one can’t touch you

d.    Psalm 91:7-10-No evil befalls you neither does any plague come near your dwelling

e.    Isaiah 54:14,17-You’re far from oppression and no weapon formed against you prospers

f.      2 Corinthians 2:14-God always causes us to triumph

g.    2 Corinthians 9:8-We always have more than enough no matter what the need is

h.     Matthew 14:36, 15:30-31-Jesus healed them all

i.       John 8:56-They came to kill Jesus and they couldn’t

j.       Psalm 103:4-My life is redeemed from destruction

2.     Don’t operate in the fear of standing on your redemption

b.    It’s not arrogance it’s righteousness; it’s confidence in what Jesus did for me (1 Samuel 17)

D.    Isaiah 50:2 – Is the Lord’s had shortened that it cannot redeem

1.     Psalm 77:15, Numbers 11:23, Genesis 18:14-God redeemed you with his might arm; think about that

a.    That means there’s nothing he didn’t redeem you from

b.    What is there that the power God has not redeemed you from?

2.     Isaiah 35:1 – The redeemed shall walk in this land that has the glory manifested in abundance

a.    In the middle of a desert there shall be abundance (Matthew 14:15)

b.    2-You are going to SEE the manifested goodness of God, the honor, riches, and abundance of God in the place of lack

c.     8-9-The redeemed people of character are going to walk there

3.     Isaiah 41:8-20 – Fear not you’re redeemed the Lord is with you helping you

a.    12-My enemies are brought to nothing (Hebrews 2:14-15)

b.    11,13-The redeemed are the helped of God (Romans 8:26)

c.     14-The redeemed don’t crawl around like worms there head’s up and chest is out because of what Jesus did

4.     Isaiah 43:1-5

a.    1-Fear not you are redeemed

b.    2-The redeemed are protected

c.     7-The redeemed are created for God’s glory

d.    20-22-Their redeemer was capable of doing great things, but they didn’t call on Him

e.    25-26-The redeemed think forgiven and cleansed and put God in remembrance of it

5.     Isaiah 51:1-3, 11-13

a.    1-3-The garden of Eden is for the redeemed

b.    12-Who are you that you should be afraid of man?

c.     13-To be afraid you’d have to forget your redeemer

d.    13-By the way where is the fury of the oppressor?

6.     Isaiah 54 – The Lord your redeemer did this

a.    1-3-The redeemed expect and plan for breakthrough

b.    4-9-The Father’s love for the redeemed

c.     10-The redeemed think nothing missing and nothing broken

d.    14-The redeemed are free from fear and far from oppression
