The Way Out Of Babylon

Foundation Statement: Humility, casting the care, inquiring of the Lord and obeying Him is the way out of Babylon; The way to stay in Babylon would be to take the care in pride, rely on yourself and execute your own plan.

I.      #1-It’s imperative that we take the time to cast the care on the Lord

A.    Acts 11:23-You’re not just going through the motions, you’re doing something purposefully (with a sense of resolve or determination)

1.      Casting the care is not something that you do hastily; you are by faith releasing something (cares are real things) into His hand, trusting that he is going to take care of it (do the work) and committing in your heart and to him to never pick up the care of this (and try to make it happen or figure it out), but rather to do only what he shows you and say what he tells you to say

2.      You don’t do spiritual things in a hurry and on the run and do them effectively

B.     You have to set your heart aright in each situation that deals with the cares of life

1.      Psalm112:7-8-There’s a fixing of the heart that has to take place

a.    This guy is not afraid, but why? He set his heart aright, He is secure and without a care in the Lord, He’s leaning on, relying on, and resting in the Lord, and he won’t pick up the care of this while he waits for his victory to manifest

2.      Psalm 78:8-9,41-Because they didn’t set their heart aright, they took the care of their lives and when they did they limited God (He couldn’t take care of them)

a.    If you don’t take the time to set your heart aright in the beginning you’ll miss it in the middle

C.    It’s either Victory in the Kingdom or destruction in Babylon so let’s not rush this

1.      Jeremiah 42, 2 Chronicles 20-You can be destroyed in Babylon or overcome in the Kingdom and those are the only two choices

II.     #2-Humble yourself (Because pride takes the care)-1 Peter 5:6

A.    This is the acknowledgement that I am not the care taker

1.      Therefore I’m not going to try to come up with plan of how I can meet my own needs; I’m not going to try to figure this out, I’m not going to initiate action to solve my problem without inquiring of the Lord

a.    Acknowledge where your situation is concerned that YOU CAN’T TAKE CARE OF IT (meet your own needs without God) and you’re totally relying on God

b.    I CAN’T take care of it, I can do nothing of myself, I can’t add one thing to my life by taking the care, I can’t make it happen

2.      This has to be a reality to you because as long as there is still part of you that thinks you can take care of it you will continue to try to do so

a.    I’m humbling myself and I’m not going to take thought for my life or try to take care of myself because I can’t; I’m not looking to myself or relying on myself; I’m dependent on Him

b.    Pride relies on itself, on it’s own effort, it takes the care and thinks it can get it with it’s own effort

3.      Get in your place, Know your job-I’m not the care taker, I’m not the one who does the works, I’m not the one who manifests victory, I’m not the one who makes it come to pass

a.    Moses wasn’t the one who parted the red sea

b.    Jairus wasn’t the one who healed is daughter

c.     Jehoshaphat wasn’t the one who defeated those armies

d.    Jesus wasn’t the one who calmed the storm

B.     Come to the end of yourself at the beginning rather than toiling for six months and then realizing it

1.      John5:19,30,15:5,14:10, 2Chron20:12-This is humility, this is reality, this is realizing you can’t take care of it

2.      No matter how hard I try, how great of an effort I make, I can’t take care of this

a.    EX: Baby you can’t get your husband saved, you can’t make sure nothing happens to your kids; There’s one who can and it’s not you, it’s the great caretaker so humble yourself

b.    It will free you up to realize although you do have responsibilities where this is concerned, you are not responsible for taking care of it

3.      Judges 6:12-15-How am I going to do it? You’re not; - YOU CAN’T DO IT

III.   #3-Believe that God loves YOU

A.    1 Peter 5:7-To believe that God will take care of you, you have to believe that He Loves you

1.      Deut1:27-32-They don’t believe God loves them and they don’t believe God will take care of them

a.    32-They won’t believe God will take care of them because they don’t believe God loves them

2.      I believe God loves me and I believe He will take care of me and therefore I cast the care on him

a.    1 John4:16-You won’t cast your care if you don’t believe the love; If you don’t believe He loves you, you won’t believe he’ll take care of you and you won’t cast the care upon Him

3.      If you don’t believe God loves you, then you won’t believe he’ll take care of you and that will lead to you trying to take care of yourself

a.    If you’ve taken the care you don’t believe the love

b.    They have taken the care because they aren’t sure Jesus loves them-Mark 4:38

B.     You got to get the understanding that God wants this for you more than you want it for you

1.      Exodus 34:6-This is not what God has, this is who God is; This is what God called himself; He is your Father

a.    Chesed-Loving-kindness, Favor, Goodness, Tender-mercies, Unfailing love, Loyal love, Devotion

2.      Isaiah 30:18 (AMP)-God has a longing desire to take care of you, to give to you, to hold you up

a.    There’s a eager yearning in God to love you and take care of you and to show kindness

3.      Luke 12:4-7 (AMP)-God is so in to me-He knows the number of hairs on my head

a.    Not one sparrows goes uncared for you and you’re better than them so God will care for you and that’s why you don’t have to be afraid

b.    Love (Agapeo)-To totally give yourself to another; It’s what we bind ourselves with and become one with; It’s total commitment and consumption; It is in every sense of the word fanaticism; It’s what we put first in our lives; It’s a commitment love

4.      Zechariah 2:8-I am the apple of his eye

a.    The eyeball, or globe of the eye, with pupil in center, called "apple" from its round shape. Its great value and careful protection by the eyelids automatically closing when there is the least possibility of danger made it the symbol of that which was most precious and jealously protected.

b.    Deuteronomy 32:10, Psalm 17:8-Take care of me as the apple of your eye

1)       You instinctively protect and take care of the apple of your eye; when something gets in your eye you take care of it right away; when something comes to attack the apple of your eye you protect it right away

5.      God is always thinking about me

a.    Psalm 8:4-What is man that you are mindful of him

b.    Psalm 111:5-God is ever mindful of his covenant

c.     Psalm 115:12-The Lord has been mindful of us

6.      Psalm 46:1-He is always the “I AM,” in my life-Never, “I did” or “I will in the future,” but always now;

7.      Ezekiel 16:8-The spreading of the skirt is the first thing that happened and it is the ultimate act of love; This is a representation that you are now under my care, you have become mine-Ruth 3:9-11

a.    Ruth was out here working for it all (works), but we she came under that skirt, the working stopped

b.    Luke 12:31-He wants me to have it all

C.    When you know, believe, & have confidence in God’s love for you and that He wants best for you, you’ll cast the care upon God and never touch it again

IV.   #4-Trust God to take care of it (To do the Work)

A.    Do you believe that He will take care of this?  Do you believe God manifest your victory, do the work? Do you have faith in Him as Your Caretaker?

1.      Do you believe this verse-1 Peter 5:7

2.      Can you say this in faith: My Father is taking care of it

B.     You have to have faith in God’s Word (about your situation), because you trust in His integrity

1.      He promised to care for you and do you caring for you

2.      EX: If He said by his stripes I am healed, then I am and He’s taking care of me

C.    If you would trust Him to take care of you (to do the work), you would be abundantly satisfied-Psalm 36:7-8

1.      You have to trust under the shadow of his wings/skirt – You have to trust him to take care of you

2.      If you are trusting under the shadow of his skirt, then you are trusting him to take care of you and you’re not trying to take care of yourself

3.      This is where big time faith comes him; when it doesn’t look like He’s taking care of it and when it looks like it’s getting a little worse, you have to be able to say in faith, “The victory is mine and my Father is taking care of me.”

4.      8-Nobody can take care of you like God can take care of you

V.    #5-By faith then I release the care of this into your hands and commit to never under any circumstance to pick up the care of this

A.    If you took the care by saying then you would release the care by saying-Matthew 6:31

1.      You pick up cares with your tongue and you cast them the same way

2.      The way you take the care by saying, “What am I going to do (eat, drink, wear),” I release the care by saying, “I cast the care of this into My Father’s hands and my Father is taking care of it.”

B.     Cares are real things that you can pick up or that you can cast (throw) on Him – You can’t see them, but they are real

1.      You can’t pick something up or throw something that’s not real

2.      In the unseen realm every time a care presents itself you either picked up or cast it on God

3.      If we could see them how many would you have today? How many should you have?

C.    People wear their cares on their face

1.      1 Samuel 1:18-She’s wearing her care and it wasn’t until she released it that it got taken care of

2.      Proverbs 15:13-A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance

VI.   #6-Inquire of the Lord – YOU ARE NOT DONE YET

A.    Because it is in his hands I inquire of HIm what to do and say and what’s my part; Just because the care is in his hands doesn’t mean I’m finished

1.      Matthew 6:25-33-Jesus said don’t take the care and then seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness

2.      When you put 1 Peter 5:6-7 with Matthew 6:25-33 you realize we don’t stop at just not taking the care and casting it on the Lord, because Jesus taught rather than taking the care, seek first the Kingdom (what’s your plan, what do you want me to do and say)

B.     Remember the process: I only do and say what the Father tells me to do and to say and the Father the dwells within me he does the works-John 5:19,30,14:10

1.      If we want the Father to do the works, then we have to do and say what he tells us to do and to say

2.      John 2:5-Whatever he says to you do it; What made this work? Jesus got those words from the Father and said what he was told to say, they got those words from Jesus via the Father and did what the Father showed them to do

3.      You don’t jump into your 73 principles and go to obtaining by your own “spiritual” effort; you seek first the Kingdom (what’s your plan) and his righteousness (what’s my part); wisdom is the principle thing

a.    You don’t initiate action to solve your problem without inquiring of the Lord; even if the action is spiritual and scriptural if it was initiated by you without inquiring of Him don’t expect any results

b.    If we want the Father to back what we do and say, then He must initiate what we do and say

4.      People who spend all their prayer time asking Him to do something will be disappointed; Spend your time in prayer finding out what he wants you to do-2 Chronicles 20:12

5.      For the most part God doesn’t do the works until a man does exactly what he says

a.    EX: Moses and the Red Sea, Jesus and the Storm

b.    When a man seeks God for words and actions and does exactly what the Father showed him to do, that man will see the Father manifest and do the works-John 14:21

C.    Matthew 13:9,15-Take ears that ear and eyes that see

1.      When the Father shows you what to do and say you need to see it and hear it and not miss it

VII. #7-To Satan this is all about getting you back to Babylon and off of the Kingdom process, so beware of picking up the care

A.    Be sober

1.      Be calm, collected in spirit-Don’t get flustered and pick up the care-“My Father’s taking care of it”

2.      Dispassionate-Unemotional; Don’t be governed by how you feel

3.      To be temperate-Have enough self control to not pick the care of up

4.      Be vigilant-Aware-Satan wants you to pick the care up engage Babylon where you fail

5.      Resist Satan in faith (In the context of this you are resisting him in faith and resisting the temptation that he’s trying to push of picking up the care)

B.     10-If you stay on the Kingdom and off of Babylon this is the result

1.      The God of all grace – That’s the Father doing the works, not you

2.      Make you perfect, establish you, strengthen you, settle you that’s Genesis 12, not Genesis 11

3.      11-He gets the glory because he did the work
