Where Faith Lives - Part 2

I.      Faith carries the attitude of joy and peace (Rom 15:13, 2 Pet 1:8)

A.    If there’s joy and peace in believing, depression and worry are in unbelief

1.      People in faith have joy-Brighten up, leap, and spin around

a.      If you’re discouraged you’re not in faith

2.      People in faith have peace-The tranquil state of a soul assured

a.      If you’re stressed and worried you’re not in faith

b.      You’re soul can’t be assured without significant time spent in the Word

c.      What are you to be assured of? That you believe you have received it

B.     Line your attitude up with what you say you believe-No lip service faith

1.      I’m not just a flaky Christian; this is my faith act in the middle of pressure

C.    Joy and peace are not feelings and you can walk in joy with no feelings of joy, you can walk in peace with no feelings of peace; the way you can walk in love with no feelings of love

II.     Learning to despise your problem is key in keeping an attitude of joy and peace

A.    Numbers 13:32-33,14:9-They exalted the problem Joshua & Caleb despised it

B.     1 Samuel 17-You got people exalting the problem vs. one despising it

1.      24-25-David was in joy and peace

2.      25-26-They exalted the giant, David despised him

3.      25-30-David had to hear his reward threes time; to him this was too easy

4.      28-Your faith will be mistaken for arrogance by ignorant people

5.      33-Saul exalts the problem

6.      34-David despises him by putting him in a category with things He’s whipped

7.      42-44-Goliath despised David; he learned not to judge a book by its cover

8.      46-48-A soul assured; he ran towards Goliath

C.    Make light of the problem; Honey I know its hard, you’re going through right now and it’s tough; Jesus didn’t say honey my yoke is hard and my burden is heavy, but just hold on tight

III.   Your attitude is one of the greatest ways you prove, reveal & release your faith

A.    Why do I have joy and peace in the middle of pressure? Because I believe that I have received.  You prove, reveal, and release your faith about that through your attitude.

1.      Prove that you believe by keeping an attitude of joy and peace

2.      Your attitude will reveal/expose what you really believe

3.      Release faith at your situation by keeping an attitude of joy and peace

B.     Job 5:22-Learn to despise your mountain; this is nothing for God

1.      19-As many troubles that come is a many as He’ll deliver you from

2.      20-He’ll redeem you from lack and destruction

3.      21-You’ll be hardened to the whip of the tongue

4.      22-Laugh mockingly at destruction and famine (Psalm 2:4)

5.      24-You’re laughing in joy and peace because you know the end (Ps 37:13)

6.      26-You will live a long good life and go to the grave strong and robust

C.    Daniel 3:16-We are not careful to answer you in this matter

1.      He will deliver us-A soul assured-They have peace because they know the end

a.      They’re staring the fiery furnace in the face and are full of peace

2.      19-Why’s he so full of fury? It was their attitude in not bowing

3.      28-With trust there’s peace and no care

D.    John 8:6-Staying calm and cool under pressure through the spirit of doodle

1.      He’s not going to worry or discourage his way into the answer (Matthew 6:27)

E.     John 11:1-3-Jesus loved Lazarus

1.      4-6-He knows the end and stayed in the same place two days (Isaiah 28:16)

2.      9-10-Jesus’ faith attitude

3.      11-15-Jesus’ faith talk that they don’t understand

4.      39-43-Doubting Martha

F.     Acts 12:1-Peter’s about to be executed and he’s sleeping; faith snoring (Ps 127:2)

G.   Mark 4:35-41-Their fearful attitude proved, revealed and released unbelief

1.      37-38-Do you think he might have heard some of this storm going on? Probably, but he’s already spoken it, He’s going to the other side; he knows the end

2.      40-Jesus called coming to Him in fear, no faith

a.      Before you cry out to God because of some thing you saw in the OT, you’d better realize they cried out and Jesus called it no faith (Heb 4)

H.    Mark 5:22-He said a lot by saying nothing; you can say a lot with a few words

1.      All His silence is saying something; 1) The woman with the issue of blood 2) The one from his house 3) His crying relatives 4) His dead daughter

IV.   What are you proving, revealing & releasing with your attitude?

A.    Your attitude can say something in unbelief without you opening your mouth.

1.      Your attitude might not have a mouth, but it does have a voice

2.      Just because you’re not speaking words doesn’t mean that you’re not saying something

3.      The confession of your attitude speaks as loud and is as powerful as the confession you make with your mouth

4.      When you choose to be discouraged, depressed, and worrisome you are making confessions with your attitude that you don’t believe the Word

B.     Don’t let the enemy see you sweat; no sweat; the “Andy Griffith anointing”

1.      All hell might be breaking loose, but when you’re faith you know the end

2.      Be hardened to negative circumstances and evil reports (Isaiah 51:7,53:12)

V.    Understanding your role is key to living in the “joy and peace of faith”

A.    Faith isn’t lazy; It labors to enter into a care-free place of joy & peace (Heb 4:3,10)

1.      Faith is busy working to enter into that fully persuaded, assured soul, rest

a.      Labor-Exert yourself, give all diligence, earnestness, endeavor

b.      Rest-Calming of winds, still, quiet place

2.      This is the work of faith that most people aren’t willing to do

a.      Faith is living in the word, confessing, casting down thoughts, walking in love

3.      Make the connection between your inability to rest and your love walk

B.     Luke 8:50-Understand your role; It’s not your job to make this thing manifest; I have a part to play and if I don’t play my part it will not manifest

1.      The result has already been predetermined that if you’ll do the fearing not and the believing only, she WILL be made whole

2.      The she will be made whole is not my part, my part the fearing not & believing only

3.      My job is to apply the principles that put the law into motion; not make the law work

C.    Who’s working for you while you fear not and believe only and rest in love and faith

1.      The Word will do the work (Rom 1:16, Gen 18:14, Is 55:11)

2.      Faith is will work to manifest your victory (Luke 17:6-9)

3.      The blessing will do the work to make you rich (Proverbs 10:22)

4.      The angels will do the work (Heb 1:14, Ps 103:20)

5.      The Holy Spirit moved upon the face of the waters and when God spoke he worked to bring what God spoke to pass (Genesis 1:2)

6.      The Apostle and High Priest of your confession of faith (Hebrews 3:1)
