The Inner Workings Of The Anointing

I.      Christ in you the hope of glory (Colossians 1:26)

A.    The anointing is:

1.      The anointing is supernatural ability to get supernatural results

2.      It’s the ability to do what the world can’t do

3.      It’s the ability to get results that the world can’t get

4.      It’s the ability necessary to accomplish anything possible or impossible (Phil 4:13)

B.     Paul and Peter had to tell people that they weren’t gods (Acts 14:11, 28:3-6,10:25)

II.     The importance of a lifestyle of love and faith that is totally and completely free from fear

A.    Paul was always addressing love and faith

1.      Eph 1:15, 6:23, Col 1:4, 1 Thessalonians 1:3, 2 Thessalonians 1:3, Philemon 4-5

2.      He told Timothy it’s the end of what we preach (1 Timothy 1:5)

B.     Jesus’ commandment to the church was love and faith (1 John 3:22)

III.   The anointing of God is activated by faith working by love

A.    Galatians 5:6-Faith works by love to activate the anointing that will remove the burden and destroy the yoke

1.      6-In Jesus, the Anointed One and in his anointing circumcision and uncircumcision mean nothing, but the strength, force, and power are in faith working by love

2.      2 Timothy 1:13-Faith & love are in the anointing and the anointing is in faith & love

B.     Faith connects to/activates the anointing

1.      Mark 5:25

a.      25,26-She had the issue of blood twelve years and natural ability couldn’t produce the desired result

b.      27-When she heard of Jesus faith arose (Romans 10:17)

c.      28-We believe therefore have we spoken (2 Corinthians 4:13)

d.      30-Virtue-Dunamis, power, anointing

e.      34-Jesus credited her faith; he’s making the point that the anointing is available to everybody, but it only works in the lives of them that believe  

1)      Matthew 14:34-36-They only wanted to touch his garment because they believed if they did, they’d be made whole

2.      Matthew 13:58-The power that was on him then was the Holy Ghost and power and it’s the same power that’s in you and what activated then activates it now and what deactivated it then, deactivates it now

a.      The anointing couldn’t work there because of their unbelief

3.      Hebrews 3:12-14, 4:2-You’re made partakers of the anointing if you’ll take uncompromising stand of faith unto the end

4.      Hebrews 4:2-The power of God in the Word is what makes it advantageous

a.      It’s faith that activates the power in the Word and makes it useful to you

5.      Romans 1:16-The good news of the Anointed One and his anointing is the power of God that will produce nothing missing, nothing broken to every who believes; to those who don’t believe it won’t produce nothing missing and nothing broken

6.      Ephesians 1:19, 3:17-The anointing resides in you by faith and is activated by faith

a.      Faith is what got it in there to begin with, and faith is what turns it on

7.      John 20:29-The blessing is an empowerment that works by faith

C.    Faith, love, and the anointing work like our electrical system

1.      EXAMPLE: The power company is the source of your power.  The power that it provides can light your house, heat your house, turn your TV on, and it can do much more.  That power called electricity is capable of doing all these things.  But if your house isn’t connected to the power company through power lines you have no access to that power.  Now the power company has the ability to do all those things for you through electricity, but without a connection you can’t benefit from any of those things. 

2.      Faith is the power line through which the anointing (electricity) can flow & hit ur life

D.    Are you in faith where your situation is concerned?

1.      Faith is not stagnate

a.      If you’re not involved in these 4 areas you have no access to the anointing

2.      Faith is hearing the Word (Romans 10:17)

3.      Faith is hearing by the Word (Romans 10:17, 2 Corinthians 10:5)

4.      Faith is speaking the Word (2 Corinthians 4:13)

5.      Faith is acting in line with the Word (Romans 15:13)

E.     Faith that connects the anointing

1.      Faith is perceiving as real fact that you have received your victory and living, talking, thinking and acting like you have it now in spite of what circumstances around you are saying and being fully persuaded in your belief

2.      Fully persuaded faith is faith that is void of care, worry, and doubt

a.      Genuine faith is expressed in a lifestyle totally and completely void of care because of an unwavering trust in God and his word

3.      Weak wavering faith won’t access the anointing

IV.   Love is the force that make faith work

A.    There’s no such thing as faith without love (Galatians 5:6)

1.      One step out of love, is one step out of faith, and one step out of the anointing

2.      No love = No faith = No anointing = No victory

B.     Why is love so important to faith? (1 John 4:18)

1.      Mark 4:40-Fear and faith can’t function in the same arena

a.      Fear is faith in the enemy’s ability to harm you

b.      You can’t have faith in God and faith in the devil

c.      For faith to function fear has to leave

2.      Fear contaminates faith with torment

a.      Contaminated faith is weak faith that will struggle to access the anointing

1)      It’s weak faith (Romans 4)

2)      Make the connection between weak faith and unperfected love

b.      Faith’s job is to believe, but it can’t do it’s job properly if love has prepared the platform for it to work

3.      Fear has torment

a.      Torment-Thought of punishment or failure; to tease, to vex, to harass, to put in great agitation, to be torment with pressing solicitation

1)      It’s the thought temptation to pick up the care and worry

2)      It’s that tormenting worrying conversation in your head that says it’s not working and you’re not going to receive this time

b.      If torment is present you know fear is there; it’s fear-based & fear dependent

1)      If you get rid of the fear, you’ll get rid of the torment

c.      When you recognize torment that’s your evidence that fear is present and if fear is present you’re love isn’t being perfected

1)      You overcome torment by releasing faith in the commandment of love and then by releasing faith in the Word of God

2)      Faith in the commandment of love is trust that growth and development in it flushes out fear

3)      Love that’s growing and developing will throw fear out the doors and with the fear will go the torment, the worry and the cares and without worry and fear and care there faith will be fully persuaded

4.      When you step out of love you literally have run a line of fear contamination to your faith and there you’ll always be double-minded

a.      People have trouble believing because their faith is contaminated w/ torment

1)      It shouldn’t be hard to believe a God who can’t lie

b.      When you are living in violation to the commandment of love fear contaminates every bit of that faith comes in

C.    Satan’s job is to contaminate faith with fear (in the form of cares and worries), causing that faith to be diluted, weak, and ineffective in accessing the anointing
