Christ In You The Hope Of Glory

Colossians 1:25-29-Christ
in you the Hope of Glory
A. The riches of the
glory-The abundant excellence, magnificence of this mystery
1.
Riches-wealth, abundance
of external possessions, fulness, abundance,
plenitude, a good i.e. that with which one is enriched
2.
Glory-In
the NT always a good opinion concerning one, resulting in praise, honor, and
glory; splendour, brightness, magnificence,
excellence, preeminence, dignity, grace, a most glorious condition, most
exalted state
B. This is the great
mystery: Christ in you the hope of glory
1.
Christ (1 Corinthians 1:24)
a.
The Greek translation of the Hebrew Word Masiah, which
means the anointed one.
b.
It refers to pouring or smearing sacred oil on a
person in a ceremony of dedication symbolizing divine empowering to accomplish
a task
c.
Christ
is the English term for the Greek word Khristos, which means the
anointed.
d.
Khristos was used to translate the Hebrew word Masiah which
means one who is anointed.
e.
Khristos means covered in oil and is the literal translation
of Messiah.
f.
The
single title Christos is used to signify the One who by His Holy
Spirit and power indwells believers
g.
Our English Word christen
means baptize or submerge.

Hope-Confident
expectation
3.
Glory-Magnificence,
Excellence, grace, most exalted state, the manifested goodness (Exodus 33),
miracles (Numbers 14:21), manifested word (John 1:14)
4.
With
the anointed on and his anointing in you, you can confidently expect to a
magnificent, excellent life with the manifested goodness of God and word of God
in it, where you are at you’re most exalted state which means you’re living
life to the fullest
C. He wants you to know this
mystery intimately and understand it fully (Colossians 2:2)

Ephesians
1:16-22
a.
He
wants you to know intimately and understand and experience the surpassing massiveness
of this explosive, miracle working, supernatural power that is in you who
believe
b.
That
power was demonstrated in the anointed one when he raised him from the dead and
set him far above all evil
c.
Far
above all power-There’s no power out there that’s greater than the power in me
II.
You can’t win without the
anointed one and his anointing working in your life (2 Corinthians 2:14)
A. Colossians 2:6-7,
3:3-4-This anointing is your life
1.
2:6,7-Walk
in that anointing and be rooted in it
2.
2:10-You’re
complete in that anointing
3.
2:20-If
you’re separated with the anointed one and his anointing from why do you still
live subject to natural law
4.
3:4-The
anointed and his anointing is your life because without it you can’t win, you
can’t walk free from the curse, you can’t walk in victory that Jesus provided
a.
A
life lived apart from the anointing is one that’s unprofitable to you and to
others around you
B. John 15:5-Without his
anointing working in your life you can do nothing
1.
We
got to get a revelation that our success in life hangs on our ability and
willingness to do whatever it takes to walk in this anointing
a.
We
need to develop since of necessity and “have to have it” where the anointing is
concerned
2.
Jesus
he isn’t every going to leave you; his anointing working in your life is
conditional
a.
A
lot of people have Jesus, but don’t have his anointing working in their lives
C. Philippians 3:3-You
should place no confidence in your natural ability to get the job done
1.
3-We
have no confidence in the flesh; we can’t depend on our natural ability
a.
Because
he knew he couldn’t depend on his natural ability, he saw the anointing as a
vital necessity
2.
4-If
anybody thinks they should rely on the flesh nobody has more of a right to
think that than me
3.
5-Those
things that were a gain to me before were costing me the anointed one and the
anointing that was on him so I got rid of them
4.
8-The
anointed one and his anointing was so important to me that I gave everything up
for it
5.
9-I
want to be found in him and in his anointing
6.
10-I
want to know him and his anointing and the power that out flowed from his
resurrection which is Christ in me the hope of glory
7.
To
him this was the most important thing in his life
a.
Without
it you’re a fruitless Christian and if you aren’t bearing fruit the Father gets
no glory (John 15:8)
D. The anointing is the
ability to do anything possible or impossible; it’s the ability to win in
“impossible” situations (Philippians 4:13)
1.
Which
not who because it’s not exactly Jesus who is strengthening you, it’s the
(which) that was on the who that’s strengthening you
E. You got to get hungry for
this anointing; you got to get thirsty for it
III.
The anointing of God is
the power of the anointed One working in a man, on a man, and in man’s life
producing victory and God’s best
A. The anointing is
supernatural power that produces supernatural results
1.
The
anointing is a divine empowerment to succeed
2.
The
anointing is necessary if you expect to win in life
3.
The
anointing is the ability to win, when you’re not supposed to win
4.
The
anointing is that which the kingdom of darkness has no answer for
B. The anointing of God is
God’s super on your natural giving you supernatural ability to do what you
could not do before
1.
Matthew
14:24-The anointing made it so a natural man could walk on water
2.
Luke
1:35-The anointing made it so a woman with no man could have a child
3.
Daniel
3-The anointing made it so three men could get thrown into fiery furnace and be
unharmed
4.
Daniel
6:22-The power of the anointing shut those lions mouths
5.
Romans
4:20-The anointing made it so a 90 year woman with a dead womb could have a
baby

Samuel 17-The anointing made it so a 17-year old boy could win against a giant
7.
Mark
5-The anointing made it so a woman who was sick for 12 years could be healed

Judges
6-The anointing made it so 300 men could win against 135,000
9.
Mark
4-The anointing made it so Jesus could stop that storm
10. Matthew 14-The anointing
made it so that 5000 men could be fed with that boys lunch
11. John 8-The anointing made
it so they couldn’t kill Jesus
C. Isaiah 10:27-The
anointing is the burden removing, yoke destroying power of God
1.
No
matter what the burden or what the yoke, it’s not too much for the anointing
D. Your problem is no match
for God’s power or the anointing

IV.
Satan is the anti-Christ;
he’s literally the one who’s against the anointing
A. 1 John 4:3-4-Satan is the
anti-Christ
1.
Antichrist-He’s
against the anointed one and against the anointing
2.
The
anointed one and his anointing that is in you is greater than the anti-christ
3.
Satan
is no match for the anointing
a.
He
can’t just show up and trump the anointing
b.
If
the anointing is at work, he can’t be
B. Acts 10:38-Satan has no
answer for the anointing
1.
God
anointed Jesus of Nazareth and he became Jesus Christ, the anointed one
2.
Jesus
was submerged in the Holy Ghost and power (Matthew 3:16)
a.
Anoint-To
smear, to rub over, to spread a liquid, anything smeared, to spread a liquid,
to be poured, to pour in anointing, to spread on, to rub in
1)
EX:
When you rub in lotion, the lotion is there, but you just can’t see it; you can
see the effects of it because my skin is not dry, but you get see it; likewise
when God rubs himself in you, that anointing can’t be seen, but the effects can
be seen because you’re winning life
b.
It’s
God rubbing and smearing himself on a man giving that man supernatural ability
to win
3.
Satan
was overpowering people, but when the anointing showed up the oppression
ceased, the anointing overpowered the enemy and he couldn’t stop it
a.
The
anointing is the believers trump card
C. John 14:10-The works that
Jesus did were done by the Father/anointing in him
1.
What
works did he do? (Mark 4,5, Matthew 4,14, John 2,8)
a.
Yeah
but that was Jesus; no it was the Father dwelling in Jesus who did the works
2.
He
said we could do those works and greater could we do because he went to the
Father
a.
John
16:7-When he went to the Father the same spirit that dwelled in him dwells in
us; the same Father/anointing that did the works in him is now in us
3.
John
14:16-18-The same spirit that dwelled in Jesus is in you
a.
This
is how Jesus came back to you in the form of the Holy Spirit
D. Acts 1:5,8
1.
You
have been baptized with the Holy Ghost and power
2.
You
didn’t get a different anointing, a different Holy Ghost, or a different power
3.
Acts
2:4-You were immersed in the Holy Ghost and power and anointing
4.
2
Corinthians 1:21-You are anointed
5.
God
rubbed himself into you and even though he can’t be seen, the effects of it
working will be seen in your winning life
