Operating Out Of Your Spirit
FOUNDATION STATEMENT: To
operate in the Kingdom of God system you must operate out of your spirit and
not your flesh. The Kingdom of God
system is a spiritual system that runs on spiritual principles
that must be applied by a spirit-being. You cannot operate from the standpoint
of your flesh and operate in the Kingdom of God system. – 1 Cor 15:50, John 3:5
I.
You must understand that
you are a spirit being, you’re from a foreign land, and you are living in a
place that you’re not from
A. We are spirit beings, we
have souls, we live in bodies
1.
John
3:6-U can’t b born of spirit & come out flesh; u can’t b born of flesh
& come out spirit
a.
When
God wanted a flesh body to operate in the Earth, God (Spirit) needed Mary
(Flesh) to give birth to Jesus (Flesh)
2.
John
4:24, 1 John 5:1-God is a spirit; If you believe that Jesus is the Christ, then
you are born of God, who is a spirit, and that makes you a spirit-being
a.
Acts
17:29-My flesh sprung off of my natural parents, b/c that which is flesh is born
of flesh, but my spirit sprung off of God because that which is born of spirit
is spirit
3.
1
Thess 5:23-We are tri-part beings; you are spirit,
you have a soul, you live in a body
a.
You
are spirit first; 1 Cor
9:27-“I” is Paul the spirit; Rom
12:1-“You” are not your bodies; Phil
1:21-24 – “I” the spirit abides in flesh; 2 Cor 4:16-The inward man; 1 Peter 3:4 – The hidden man of
the heart
b.
U
r not natural having a spiritual experience, u r spirit having a natural
experience
1)
You’re
not natural, you’re supernatural or above natural
2)
This
is very important b/c dominion comes when you operate out of your spirit
B.
We,
as spirit-beings, are not of the world (John 17:14)
1.
John
8:23-Jesus didn’t come from, or come out of the world, he originated, came
from, & came out of God (Of-Denotes
origin, where something comes from)
a.
John
17:14-We didn’t originate, come from, or come out of the world; we originated,
came from, and came out of God (the same as Jesus did)
b.
We’re
from another planet called Heaven
2.
We
are spirit-beings sent from a spiritual government and we are not of this
world, we are of God/Heaven (2 Corinthians 5:20)
a.
Jesus
operated as a spirit being in the Earth
1)
To
properly represent our King, who is a spirit, we are going to have to think,
talk, and act as spirit-beings
b.
Mark
11:12-As a spirit being he speaks to a tree
c.
Mark
4:35-41-As a spirit being he speaks to a storm; What
manner of man is this?
1)
To
them this was not normal behavior & they couldn’t figure out what kind of
man he was
2)
It
looked different 2 b/c they saw a man operating from his spirit, not his flesh
3)
Flesh
does what the disciples did, spirit does what Jesus did
d.
He’s
operating like the 1 (the Father who is a spirit) who sent him and now we’re
supposed to operate like the 1 who sent us (Jesus who is a spirit)-(Ps 89:8-9)
1)
Eph
5:1-2 –We haven’t been used to acting like the Father and He’s a spirit
a)
Bill
Winston speaking to his car, looked around to see if anybody was looking
2)
Religion
has taught us that God has one way of doing things, the world has a way of
doing things, and the church has a way of doing things, and who are we to think
that we could act like God; But the word tells us to act like God
II.
When we operate as
spirit-beings in the KOG lifestyle it’s going to look foolish to the world
A. Our system and the way we
operate is totally different to the world’s system and even the system of
religion that the world has set up
1.
1
Cori 3:19-What the world and it’s system thinks is wise, God thinks is foolish
and silly
a.
It’s
foolish to God for you to say what you have, b/c he told you that you could
have what you say
b.
It’s
foolish to God for you to treat a person bad, b/c what you do is done to you
2.
The
KOG system is 180 degrees in the opposite direction of the system of the world
a.
The
love system-We love all the time, they only love what’s lovely
b.
The
financial system-We sow all the time, the hoard up
c.
The
healing system-We confess healing, they talk the sickness
3.
1
Corinthians 2:14 – But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or
welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and
revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense)
to him; and he is incapable of knowing them because they are spiritually discerned
and estimated and appreciated.
a.
Natural
man thinks that spiritual things are foolish and silly
b.
They
think what I do is foolish, but I’m a spirit-being working a whole other system
that they know nothing about
B.
We
don’t need to be obnoxious, but we must operate out of our spirits working the
Kingdom of God system, not hiding our Heavenly citizenship
1.
One
thing that many believers have done is they act real spiritual in front of the
world and it’s a phony front to look spiritual, but it’s not who they really
are
a.
We
need to get to the place where operating out of our spirits in KOG lifestyle is
just who we are
2.
Jesus
operated out of his spirit & worked the kingdom system (Mk 5:35-42, Lk 8:51-55)
a.
Jesus
shows up to the house and Jairus’ family is doing what the world does in those
types of situations, they are weeping and waling
1)
Were
they weeping and waling in faith or in fear? Fear
2)
Why
were they weeping and waling? B/C
in their system, as flesh beings, she was dead & there’s no way that they
can change it and the only thing left to do in that system is tumult
3)
Was
weeping and waling going to raise that girl from the dead? No
b.
Jesus
shows up as a spirit-being operating out of His spirit & working the KOG
system
1)
They
said the girl was dead, but Jesus said she was asleep, what is he doing?
a)
Luke
8:55 – Her spirit had left her body so she must have been dead.
2)
He’s
operating out of his spirit, working the KOG system and imitating the Father by
calling those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17)
a)
God
calls things that are not in the natural like they are in the natural
b)
It
may not be so, but God’s going to talk like it is so; that’s how he operates
Gen 17-Abraham had 0 kids God called him the Father of a great multitude
c)
Jesus
did that b/c in his system, just b/c a person is dead doesn’t mean that’s the
way it is. In his system he, as a
spirit, he can speak words to a physical thing and change them
c.
Laughed
him to scorn – They laughed down at him disrespectfully
1)
Why
did they laugh? Because in their
wisdom they just knew the girl was dead and to them what he saying was foolish.
(Luke 8:53)
2)
This
is the way Jesus operates and it looks foolish to them
3)
To
the world Jesus calling those things that be not as though they are was crazy,
so much so, that they laughed at him, but I would be willing to say they
weren’t laughing when they found out the girl was alive
d.
Jesus
also put the family out and you know that’s not real churchy, but he’s working
a system; In his system there can be no fear
3.
The
world won’t understand you when you operate out of your spirit & work the
Kingdom of God system
a.
John
11:11-14-They didn’t understand Jesus b/c he was talking on a higher level
b.
John
3:31 – He Who comes from above (heaven) is [far]
above all [others]; he who comes from the earth belongs to the earth, and talks
the language of earth [his words are from an earthly standpoint]. He Who comes from heaven is [far] above all others [far
superior to all others in prominence and in excellence].
c.
EXAMPLE:
Veronica Winston saying she had a job, but didn’t know where it was
C. When we operate out of
our spirit & work the KOG it’ll always outdo the world’s system
1.
Jairus’
family didn’t get anything done where that little girl was concerned, but Jesus
got her raised from the dead; The KOG system outdid the system of the world
2.
1
Corinthians 1:20 – God’s way makes the world’s way look foolish
a.
The
believers who work God’s system will always get the last laugh
1)
That
laughed at Jesus, but Jesus got the last laugh
3.
1
Corinthians 1:27 – God’s going to use something that looks foolish and
weak to the world to exalt the body of Christ
a.
If
we’ll work God’s system and do it his way, it might look dumb at first to the
world, but when we’re the richest, smartest, most healed, most blessed it won’t
look dumb to them any more; God’s system will put the world’s system to shame
b.
Mark
4:30 – The Kingdom of God is like a muster seed
1)
It’s
may look foolish and little at first, but when it manifest it will be the best
way on the Earth
III.
Satan has tried to pull us
so far away from the Kingdom of God lifestyle and operating out of our spirits,
to make operating out of our spirits look different to us and what should be
different to us look normal
A. He’s taken the Kingdom of
God lifestyle and made it look foolish to the believer
1.
Operating
out of the flesh, shouldn’t look more normal to us than operating out of the
spirit
2.
When
we live from the spirit, our way of thinking and acting will seem strange to
the world and it will probably seem strange to us for a while
a.
The
only reason it seems strange is because it’s a whole new system and we are
going through a mind renewal process
3.
If
it didn’t originate from the word, then it’s not spiritual (John 6:63)
a.
Believers
have invented some things and called them spiritual, but they weren’t spiritual
at all because they weren’t in line with the Word
B.
We
are not of the world, we shouldn’t be trying to be like the world, or be normal
in their eyes
1.
Romans
12:1-3-The only thing that I’m conforming to is the Word
a.
That
means don’t talk like the world, don’t think like the world, don’t act like the
world and don’t operate like the world
1)
If
you don’t want the result that the world’s getting, then you’d better not do
things the way that the world does them
2)
The
Kingdom of God lifestyle is going to put in a place where you are much
different than the world and the world’s system of religion
2.
The
world will oppose people who refuse to conform to their way of doing things
(John 17:14)
a.
2
Timothy 3:12 – The people who do it God’s way will be persecuted
b.
John
15:18-Stop trying to get the world to like you and start operating in the KOG
1)
We
have to stop comparing ourselves to the world
2)
John
12:42 – They believed, but wouldn’t confess it because they were in
bondage to people and consequently they never received
c.
I’m
different, I know I’m different and that’s okay b/c they Jesus was different to
1)
John
5:41 (AMP) – I crave no human honor, I look for no mortal fame
IV.
To operate in the Kingdom
of God system you are required to operate and function out of your spirit and
not your flesh
A. The Kingdom of God is a
spiritual reality b/c it’s an unseen kingdom (Luke 17:20-21)
1.
The
Kingdom of God doesn’t come with outward show
2.
The
Kingdom of God system is not of this world. It is a spiritual system that operates
on spiritual principles (John 18:36)
B.
The
KOG is spiritual reality & to operate in it you must operate as a
spirit-being-Jn 3:1-6
1.
A
person who is not born again cannot enter into God’s ways of doing things
because they can’t operate out of their spirit
a.
You
can’t operate out of your flesh & work the spiritual system of the KOG
b.
1
Cor 15:50-Flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom
of God
2.
A
person who is not born again cannot see, know, or understand the Kingdom of God
and how it operates
a.
1
Corinthians 2:14 – But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or
welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and
revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense)
to him; and he is incapable of knowing them because they are spiritually
discerned and estimated and appreciated.
1)
A
person who is not born again or even carnal Christians will not understand
God’s system because they still think on a carnal level
b.
What
you do in the KOG will not make sense to your flesh or other fleshy people
1)
Romans
8:6 – A carnal mind is against God and His system
C. We need to put spirit
first and be more spirit-conscious than flesh conscious. You are not natural having
a spiritual experience, you are spirit having a natural experience.
1.
Always
start attacking any problem spiritually first (Matthew 6:33)
a.
We
have had tendency to try to come up with ideas of how to fix something in the
natural and not even address the spiritual
1)
EX:
Church is in need bake sale; Want to lose weight, go on a diet; Want to get out
of debt, get another job; Need more people in meetings, advertise more
b.
Don’t
get so fleshy that you don’t even think about the spiritual side
D. When God is speaking to
you realize that He’s not talking to your flesh; he’s talking to you and you’re
inside that flesh
1.
He’s
not talking to you based on what your flesh can do, He’s talking your spirit
that was created in His image, based on what it can do (Ephesians 4:22-24 AMP)
2.
When
the Word of God comes forth and you say you can’t do it, that’s because you let
your flesh answer
a.
When
people respond to the word a lot of times they are responding to the word out
of their flesh instead of out of their spirits
b.
Peoples
minds and bodies have been trained to the world’s system
3.
When
you gage things from the standpoint of your five physical senses or a carnal
mind you’ll limit yourself and you’ll limit God
a.
Satan
wants to get you in the flesh, thinking from the standpoint of your flesh, so
that you won’t work the Kingdom of God & accomplish what you’re spirit can
do
V.
Operating out of your
spirit (Genesis 3:1-11)
A. In the Garden before Adam
sinned, he operated as spirit being, out of a physical body, in a physical
Earth
1.
Adam
was not the body, Adam was the spirit in the body
a.
Genesis
1:27, 2:7 – Adam’s spirit was made in the image of God, his body was made
out of the dust of the ground
2.
When
Adam named all the animals, Adam got those names from God and God downloaded
those names into Adam’s spirit
B.
Their
eyes were opened-V7
1.
Open
– the senses, especially the eyes
2.
Eve
saw that tree, so she wasn’t blind before their eyes were opened
a.
When
they sinned, their senses (flesh) gained ascendancy over their spirits, their
senses dictated truth rather than their spirits dictating truth
C. Who told you that you
were naked?
1.
That
seems like a very obvious answer to a very simple question
a.
God’s
asking them where did they get that knowledge from because he didn’t tell them
that they were naked
2.
Who
told you that you were naked? Where did you get that information from because I
didn’t say that?
a.
They
knew they were naked because their senses told them that they were naked. That information came from the senses
b.
They
were naked before they sinned, but they were clothed with the glory & they
weren’t conscious of their nudity (flesh) they were conscious of the glory
(spirit)
D. When Adam sinned he fell
from revelation to information
1.
Revelation
knowledge is knowledge that comes from God, who is a spirit, to your spirit (1 Cor 2:9-10)
a.
Information
knowledge is knowledge gained through your five physical senses
2.
Before
he sinned Adam, who is spirit, received knowledge from God who is spirit
a.
When
God talked with Adam he wasn’t talking to Adam’s body he was communicating with
Adam (the spirit) who was created in God’s image
b.
Adam
was operating by knowledge that came from the spirit of God to his spirit and
his spirit was dictating truth based on what it received from God
3.
When
Adam sinned he got trapped in information knowledge and was receiving knowledge
based on what his physical sense told him
a.
Adam
then operated by information that came from his five physical senses and that
dictated what was true
b.
Who
told u were naked?-He didn’t get that from God, he got
it from his senses
E.
When
Adam sinned he began to operate from outside in rather than the inside out (He
began to operate from flesh to spirit, rather than spirit to flesh)
1.
After
he sinned what he saw with his eyes told his mind that he was naked and his
mind told his spirit
a.
Consequently,
he believed he was naked based on what the senses said
b.
He’s
receiving a transmission of information that goes from his five physical
senses, to his mind, and into his spirit/heart
c.
Where
before he received revelation from the spirit of God to His spirit, his spirit
told his mind, and then his mind told his body
2.
What
he sees is dictating what he believes (in his spirit), instead of what he
believes (in his spirit) dictating what he sees
a.
The
outside is dictating the inside, instead of the inside dictating the outside
1)
What
he sees is what he believes and what he believes is what he has, so he’s stuck
with what he sees
b.
Spirit
vs. Flesh
1)
The
flesh is: What I see dictates what I believe
2)
The
spirit is: What I believe dictates what I see
3.
We
are supposed to live from the inside out, not the outside in
a.
What’s
in our hearts is in your lives (Proverbs 23:7, 4:23, Matthew 12:35, 8:13, 9:29)
b.
If
what I see dictates what I believe and what I believe dictates what I have,
then I’ll be stuck with what I see
c.
To
change what I have, I have to change what I believe
VI.
As long as we operate in
God’s system out of our spirits and not our flesh, then Satan cannot defeat
us. For him to win he must pull us
down to the level of our flesh and get us to operate out of our flesh.
A. In the Garden of Eden
Satan pulled Eve down to the physical level and defeated her. He got her to operate as flesh instead
of spirit (Genesis 3)
1.
The
revelation knowledge from God was that if you eat of this tree you will surely
die the day that you eat of it (Genesis 2:17)
2.
The
information knowledge that Eve gained through her five physical senses was that
the tree was good for food & it would make a person wise if they ate it-Gen
3:6
a.
Who
told here it was good for food? Who
told her that it would make here wise?
b.
That
was information that she got through her five physical senses
3.
When
she came down and stopped operating on revelation out of her spirit and started
operating on information out of her flesh she was defeated
B.
In
the wilderness Satan tried to get Jesus to come down and operate on the level
of the flesh but Jesus wouldn’t do it (Matt 4)
1.
Satan
said, “Jesus if u are what God says u are, prove it with physical evidence.”
2.
Jesus
said, “Man doesn’t live by the physical, but by the Word of God.”
a.
Jesus
is saying I don’t need any thing physical to prove that I am what God says I
am. I am a spirit being and I don’t
need anything physical to believe.
VII.
We must go beyond the
boundary of our five physical senses, which we got locked into at the fall of
man and operate in the unseen realm
A. The Kingdom of God is
also the realm of god
1.
We
can’t operate in the realm of our senses & expect to live successfully in
the Earth
B.
When
Adam sinned he was trapped in the realm of the flesh and limited to the realm
of the flesh and he could no longer operate as a spirit-being
1.
His
flesh is dictating to his mind what’s true & his mind & body are
telling his spirit what’s true
a.
The
flesh has talked so loud that we haven’t heard the spirit
2.
If
he couldn’t access it with his senses, then he couldn’t get to it
a.
He
cannot operate in the realm of the unseen
C. Before you’re born again
the sense realm is the boundary for your life again & you couldn’t go any
further than what you can see, feel, smell, taste or hear-2 Cor
4:18, 5:7
1.
When
you got born again you received the measure of faith and you are no longer
bound by sense realm (Romans 12:3)
a.
You
can walk in two worlds, the world of the spirit and the world of the flesh; you
can operate in the seen and the unseen realm
2.
What
I see with my physical eyes is not all that there is
a.
Just
because I see it does necessarily make it truth
D. We’ve allowed our bodies
to dictate what is true instead of allowing our spirits and the word of God to
dictate what is true
1.
The
Kingdom of God is being ruled by the word in your hearts
2.
I’m
not bound by the knowledge gained through the five physical senses b/c I can
change what I see with these physical eyes by changing what I believe in my
heart
a.
I’m
not going to let the outside of me dictate what I believe inside of me, the
inside of me dictates the outside of me
3.
As
long as you operate from the sense realm as a flesh being, you’re limited
a.
As
long as you only believe what you see you’ll be stuck with what you see
E.
Everything
physical that I see is subject to me because I am a spirit and the spiritual
gave birth to the physical
1.
Hebrews
11:3-What can be seen was made from what’s not seen
2.
2
Corinthians 4:18 – What I see is subject to change
F.
As
a believer you cannot live successfully in the Earth without revelation
knowledge because revelation knowledge will take you beyond the boundary of
your five physical senses (Matt 16:13, John 16:13, 8:32)
1.
Revelation
knowledge is knowledge that hell can’t prevail against
a.
Revelation
truth is truth that sets you free
b.
Revelation
knowledge is a higher level of knowledge
c.
Information
is designed to keep you bound and keep you where you’re at
2.
Revelation
knowledge increases spiritual sight
a.
It
takes the cover off and enables u to see something you’ve never seen before
3.
Revelation
knowledge is light
a.
Psalm
119:130 – The entrance of the word brings revelation
b.
Matthew
6:22 – If you’re eye is single you’ll be filled with revelation
4.
When
you don’t have revelation sight is diminished because you’re in darkness and
when you’re in the dark you can be deceived
a.
When
you’re deceived you believe a lie is the truth – Who told you that???
b.
You
can’t see you’re healed because spiritual sight has been diminished because you
have no revelation and you’re in the dark
c.
If
the truth sets you free, then a lie will keep you in bondage
G. Operating out of your
spirit
1.
Mediation
brings revelation (John 8:31-32)
2.
Revelation
will cause a revolution (Matthew 16:13)
3.
A
revolution will always bring about a manifestation (Mark 11:24)
