Let's Go To Work

FOUNDATION STATEMENT: Because of the diligence required to walk in victory most believers would rather be lay and live in crisis-management-mode rather than engaging diligence and walking in divine victory

I.      Do we have to work? (Hebrews 11:6, 6:11)

A.    There’s a difference between preaching works, and preaching work

1.     When a person preaches works that means they’re preaching that you have to do certain things in order to be saved and go to Heaven

a.      Ephesians 2:8-You’re saved by grace, not by works and you don’t earn salvation

2.     Just because we’re saved by grace doesn’t mean that we don’t work

a.      We don’t work to earn salvation, but that doesn’t mean we don’t work

B.     The Believer is supposed to work

1.     John 6:27-29-Labor in the meat of the Word

2.     1 Thessalonians 1:3-It’s a work of faith and labor of love

3.     Hebrews 4:11-We labor to enter into rest

4.     1 Timothy 4:7-We train, exert, and exercise vigorously unto Godliness

5.     Colossians 1:29-We labor to fulfill the call of God on our lives

C.    Our diligence begins in being diligent to hear and do the Word of God

b.      People who know the Word are cut off because they do not do (James 1:25)

1)      You can hear the word, but not do it and be cut off from the blessing

2)      The blessing doesn’t come until the doing begins

3.     The answer to every test, trial, tribulation and negative circumstance in life is to be a diligent hearer and doer of the Word (Deuteronomy 28:1-Hearken-Hear, attend to, obey)

a.      Problems don’t get solved and victories don’t manifest until somebody makes the decision to diligently hear and do the Word

1)      The root to every failure in life can be traced back to a failure to be diligent in hearing and doing the Word

2)      You cannot diligently hear and do what the Word says and fail or be defeated (Joshua 1:5)

a)     When believers think that you can it destroys faith

b.      Diligently hearing and doing the Word is the gateway to great victories

1)      John 2:5-Whatever he says to you do it!

2)      Daniel 3-He said don’t bow so don’t bow!

4.     Manifestation is limited to diligent and correct application; Diligent and correct application is limited to the revelation you have; the revelation you have is limited to the amount of time you give God’s Word in your life

1.     Some people are diligent in being lazy

2.     Most people have selective diligence; they’re diligent in flesh-pleasing activities that they want to do
