C.    Watch righteousness arouse faith? If that’s what He did for us when we weren’t right with Him, how much more will He do now that we are right with Him-Romans 5:6-10

1.      Romans 5:6-10 (Msg)-Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t, and doesn’t wait for us to get ready. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. And even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have know what to do anyway.  We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice. But God put his love on the line for us by offering his Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to him. Now that we are set right with God by means of this sacrificial death, the consummate blood sacrifice, there is no longer a question of being at odds with God in any way.  If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son, now that we’re at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life! Now that we have actually received this amazing friendship with God, we are no longer content to simply say it in plodding prose. We sing and shout our praises to God through Jesus the Messiah!

B.     Compromise or a lack of boldness keeps people from seeing the supernatural

1.      The thing that causes the word to come to pass is total reliance on it & a refusal to compromise

C.    If there’s one attribute/characteristic of people who have the supernatural power of God working in their lives it’s this: unwillingness to compromise birthed out of an revelation of their righteousness

1.      Daniel 3:14-18,25-With death staring them in the face, they knew that they were right with God and consequently they refused to compromise

2.      James 1:6-8-Double-minded men should not expect to receive anything from the Lord

V.    The driving force behind great faith is a revelation and consciousness of a person’s right-standing with God-Romans 4:2,3-13-25

A.    What drives a man to expect that God’s word is going to come to pass when there’s no human reason to expect that it’s going to come to pass?---You know you are right with God and the right you have to see that word come to pass

1.      Abraham was able to stand in faith without wavering because the rights that he had through the covenant that God made with him were reality to him

B.     We always talk about how great Abraham’s faith was, but that faith stemmed from his understanding of his right-standing with God

1.      If I’m right with God I don’t have to talk about his willingness or wonder if He will do it-Rom 4:21

2.      A person who is unaware of their righteousness will always question God’s willingness
