Conscious Of Your Righteousness
I. We have to wake up to the fact that we are the righteousness of God and
be right-standing with God conscious-1 Corinthians 15:34
A.
A person
won’t do right until the wake up to the reality that they are right
1.
Doing
right doesn’t take place before being right; you have to be made right with God
before you can ever do right before God; being made righteous gives me the
ability to do right things; the first step to doing right is to wake up to the
reality that you are right an dhave been made the
righteousness of God
2.
What would
it look for me being the righteousness to be over in playing in sin
a.
Righteous people are supposed to do right
things
b.
EX: Baseball players play baseball, swimmers
swim, righteous people do right
B.
Awake means to return to one’s self from drunkenness, to
return to soberness of mind
1. It’s that intoxicated mind that says you’re an old sinner
and unworthy worm in the dust, you need to get off that you old drunkard and
wake up to the fact that you’re the righteousness of God
2. Genesis 3:14, Psalm 72:9-That worm in the dust religious
junk is God’s plan for Satan’s life; I’m a King in the royal family and I ain’t eating no dirt
C.
Once you’ve bee made the righteousness of God
you are as righteous as you’ll ever be; However, you can become more aware of
your right-standing with God, more conscious of your right standing with God,
and exercise your faith more in that standing
1. You were made righteous with Jesus’ righteousness and that’s as high as
you’ll ever get. You’ll never be
more accepted by God, you’ll never be more innocent before God, you’ll never be
more faultless before God and you’ll never less guiltless before God, but you
can become more aware of it
II.
A person who is conscious of their
righteousness lives life as though sin never existed
A.
The
unrighteous acts of Saul of Tarsus
1.
Acts 8:1-3-Paul
consented to the stoning of Stephen and he went from house to house dragging people
out throwing them in Prison for being Christians
2.
Acts 9:1-2-He
was out of breath from threatening the disciples because he had a murderous
desire to kill them. He was seeking authorization to throw Christians in prison
for simply being Christians
B.
2
Corinthians 7:2-He committed horrific acts and he says that he’s wronged no man
1.
He wrote
Romans 3, 4, and 5 and in his heart He’s wronged no man because He’s been freed
and forgiven from all his wrong by is faith in Jesus Christ
III. As a believer I have to be
established in righteousness-Isaiah 54:14
A.
To be
Established means that this is my starting point
1. Matthew 6:33-Seek first His righteous; Seek
by thinking on and meditating on
B.
When you
don’t start with a revelation of your righteousness everything else is effected
1. If you don’t start with the right thing a
bunch of other stuff is going to get messed up
a.
EX: The
house is established on foundation
b.
The
foundation you start from plays a major role in determining where you end up
2. If you don’t start with the foundation of
righteousness:
a.
You can’t
fellowship with God
b.
You can’t
have confidence, walk by faith
c.
You can’t
receive from
d.
You can’t
rule and reign in boldness
3. When you don’t start off with the truth that
you are the righteousness of God and then get a revelation of that
righteousness it gives place to confusion
a.
Righteousness
is your starting point and from it you’ll know what to do
4. We can’t talk about healing, we can’t talk
about prosperity, and we can’t talk about victory if you’re not established in
righteousness
C.
Everything that I do as a believer I do from
this starting point, “I am the righteousness of God.”
1. I pray from that point, I declare from that point, I
rebuke from that point, I do right things from that point, I read the Word from
that point, I go to church from that point
2. The more established you are in your right-standing with God the more
effective you’ll be in everything else you do in the kingdom
3. If you don’t know who you are, you won’t know what you can do
D.
Being established in righteousness is
directly connected to being free from fear and far from oppression
1. Oppression is the
spoiling or taking away of men’s goods by terror or force, without having any
right thereto, by working on the ignorance, weakness, or the fearfulness of the
oppressed
a.
Satan is the thief who comes to steal what’s
yours-John 10:10
b.
If you’ll be conscious of your righteousness
you’ll be aware of your blood bought rights
2. Fear is the oppression connector
a.
The righteous are as bold as lions-Proverbs
28:1
b.
When you’re conscious of your righteousness
you’ll get bold and rather than just allowing the enemy to come an take you’re
stuff you’ll resist in bold faith
3. 17(AMP)-This is the rights of the righteous
