Benefits Of Seeing Jesus

I.      Ten benefits that come from seeing Jesus

A.    The more clearly you see Jesus the more accurately you can imitate the Father and the more you act like God, the more victory you’re going to have-Eph 5:1, Col 1:15

1.      How ever you see the Master, is how you’re going to endeavor to live your life

B.     The people who saw him accurately received the most from his ministry-Matthew 16:13

C.    Seeing Jesus accurately empowers you; it empowers you to think like him, talk like him, act like him & get the results he got-Matthew 16:13

D.    Seeing Jesus accurately will establish you and build you up to a greater place-Mt 16:13

1.      He’s building the church on the revelation of who He is, why because whoever He is I can be, however He functioned I can function

2.      The condition of the church can always be connected back to how well they are seeing Jesus; A person who has lost sight of Jesus (not seeing him clearly, not conscious of who he is, not conscious of how he functions) will be in bad condition

E.     The more clearly you see Jesus, the less victory Hell will have in your life-Matthew 16:13

F.     As we look at Jesus we will become more like Him-2 Corinthians 3:16

G.   Jesus pays attention to and talks to those who are endeavoring to see Him-Luke 19:1-9

H.    Jesus will abide with, fellowship with, those who are endeavoring to see Him-Luke 19:1-9

I.      Right-living was restored to the man who endeavored to see Jesus-Luke 19:1-9

J.     The man who endeavored to see Jesus got his victory, his miracle, his breakthrough-Lk19

II.     Review Points

A.    People have tendency in their minds to create a Jesus they like and one who is comfortable to live with; We must let the HS build our image of who he is & nothing else

1.      People think they know who He is and don’t so let’s be open to see more of Him; there’s more of Him to see, there’s parts of Him you haven’t seen

B.     While we need the principles of the Word we must never forget the person from which these principles came

1.      Every principle given was given because of the love that THE PERSON has for you

2.      We got to be cautious that we don’t get so principle-minded that we forget the person

a.    The principle is there to connect you to the person of Jesus

3.      If you remove the PERSON from the principles, the principles become lifeless and dry

III.   We are supposed to live like Jesus, but you cannot live like Jesus if you are not seeing Him (how he REALLY lived)

A.    Mark 9:15-When you see Jesus you will be left amazed

1.      Seeing Jesus draws you to him

2.      Seeing Jesus will cause you receive him joyfully and welcome him

B.     John 13:15-Jesus gave us the example not just for us to go, “OOH, AHH, WOW,” but he gave us the example for us to follow it (him)

1.      Some people look at Jesus speak to the storm and say, “OOH!” Others look at him lay hands on the sick and say, “AHH!” Some watch Him multiply the fish and the loaves and say, “Wow!” But God is looking for a people who after they get done oohing, ahhing, and wowing will got out and speak to the storm, lay hands on the sick, and multiply some stuff the way he did

2.      1 John 2:6-If you’re born again and abiding in him you SHOULD be living the same way He lived (Even as means the same as)

C.    Matthew 11:27-Jesus commands us to learn of him, watching how he did it

1.      ERV-Accept my teaching. Learn from me. I am gentle and humble in spirit.  And you will be able to get some rest. Yes, the teaching that I ask you to accept is easy.  The load I give you to carry is light.

a.    Matthew 5:48, Luke 6:40-Disciples are supposed to look at their master, watch their master, study their master and then endeavor to live the same way

b.    This seeing him and becoming more like him, this is a constant conscious process and effort where we look at him, look at us and adjust and then do it again

c.     Some aren’t looking close enough into him (Jesus did touch every sick person)

2.      One thing that you’ll see is that nothing was forced in His life

a.    You don’t see Jesus working stuff up; whatever the Father told him to do he did, whatever he told him to say he said
