The Spirit Without Measure

Foundation Statement: John 3:34-Jesus saw the spirit work without measure because he only spoke the words of God; it wasn’t his intense effort, it was his precise obedience

I.      John 3:27-No man can just decide to go do something and have heaven’s backing; no man can take unto himself anything, but it must be given to him from Heaven first

A.    26-They are concerned that Jesus is taking John’s people

1.      29-John is rejoicing because of what Jesus is doing

B.     27-John says He couldn’t do this if the Father hadn’t given it to Him to do – He can do nothing of himself, only what He sees and hears; John knows that if Jesus hadn’t been authorized by Heaven He couldn’t have done what he’s doing

1.      The Living Bible-God in Heaven appoints each man’s work

2.      MSG-It’s not possible for a person to succeed--I’m talking about eternal success--without Heaven’s help

1.      The Kingdom Process is I can do nothing of myself.  I can only do and say what the Father shows me to do and say and when I do it and say the Father who dwells within me he does the work

1.      Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father – the place of authority – and we’re seated with Him.  If you know anything about history, you know that to sit at the right and of the king or pope means authority.  We died with Christ, and we were raised with Him.  This is not something God is going to do in the future; He already has done it.

a.    Yes Jesus is above all, but I’m his body, I’m his representative and I stand in that authority and as a son of God that authority is a much mine as it is his

2.      Prominence-Exalted in rank, High in Office

a.    You are exalted in rank and high in office – You are on official business from Heaven and you have been personally sent by the Creator of the universe to do kingdom business here; I’d say that’s exalted in rank and High in office

3.      Excellence-High rank in scale of beings, title given to Kings

B.     Psalm 82:1-8-We are divine ones, who are from above and above all, and we are supposed to be ruling and reigning on the Earth

a.    The Amplified Bible says his representatives, you are to judge on his behalf

2.      2-God’s correcting them for judging unjustly

3.      3,4-These things are the job of God’s divine ones

a.    Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy

b.    Justice is what’s right---What’s right is what the Father shows you to do and to say

8.      8-This is what God is saying to his divine ones --- Get up and do your job and rule and reign on the Earth because the Earth is yours to inherit-Romans 4:13, Psalm 115:16

III.   John 3:34-The person who God has sent speaks the Words of God (The person from the Earth speaks Earthly)

A.    If God has sent you, you should be saying what God tells you to say, all the time in every area of your life

1.      It did not say that the person God sends says whatever they want because they’re spiritual and a faith person and a prayer person or they’re just blunt and forward and that’s just who they are

B.     31-The mark of people that are of the Earth is that they speak Earthly, they talk the language of the Earth and speak from an Earthly standpoint

1.      To speak Earthy or worldly means that words don’t matter that much, There’s not much power in your words and You just say what YOU want

2.      To speak the Earth’s language you have to talk fear, unbelief, the curse

3.      To talk from an Earthly standpoint is to talk from a perspective that doesn’t align with Heaven (I.E. From Heaven’s standpoint your healed no matter what your body says and to talk from Heaven’s standpoint and perspective then you say you’re healed no matter what)

4.      Where you’re from determines how you speak; we haven’t spoke Heaven’s language because we haven’t caught the revelation that we are from Heaven

a.    To speak Heaven’s language you have to take the time to learn it

b.    We aren’t supposed to be talking the language of the Earth and we aren’t supposed to be speaking from an earthly standpoint, but that hasn’t been the case because our minds haven’t been renewed to the Kingdom language, the Kingdom process, and overall we’ve been slow to receive correction and act on what we our taught in this area and if we’ve heard anything on it we think we’ve arrived and it is costing us our authority

C.    32-Because Jesus is from Heaven what He sees and hears from the Heaven he says

1.      Jesus is uttering, giving a report, and bearing record of what He has seen and heard from the Father

2.      This is how people from Heaven operate

a.    The Holy Spirit-John 16:13-He only says what he hears

b.    Jesus-John 8:28-He only says what he hears

c.     What about you??? People from Heaven are supposed to hear before they speak-James 1:19

3.      The difference between the guy from Heaven and the guy from Earth is that they guy from the Earth talks the language of the Earth and his words are from and Earthly standpoint, but the guy from Heaven only says what he’s seen and heard from Heaven to say

IV.   John 3:34-Because He only said & did what the Father showed him he got the spirit/power w/o measure-Act1:8

A.    He didn’t get the spirit without measure because of intense effort, it was because of precise obedience

1.      VOICE-The One sent from God speaks with the very words of God and abounds with the very Spirit and essence of God.

2.      NIRV-The One whom God has sent speaks God’s words. God gives the Holy Spirit without limit.

3.      NLV-He was sent by God and He speaks God’s Word. God gives Him all of His Spirit.

4.      ERV-God sent him, and he tells people what God says. God gives him the Spirit fully.

5.      PHIL-For the 1 whom God sent speaks the authentic words of God—and there can be no measuring of the Spirit given to him!

6.      MSG-The One that God sent speaks God’s words. And don’t think he rations out the Spirit in bits and pieces. The Father loves the Son extravagantly. He turned everything over to him so he could give it away—a lavish distribution of gifts.

B.     Jesus didn’t get the spirit without measure because he was Jesus or because he never sinned, he got the spirit without measure because he said what he was told to say

1.      If you have been filled with the Holy Spirit you got the Holy Spirit without measure, but the measure the spirit works through you is determined by the your level of obedience to do what He says

C.    Everything he did and said was backed by the authority of Heaven because everything he did and said he got from Heaven and originated with Heaven

1.      His words were with power and authority because he got his words from the Father

a.    Luke 4:32-That tells me that Heaven was backing His words

b.    Luke 4:35-36, Mark 4:41-When he exercised his authority it worked

2.      If you get what you say and get what you do from the Father then what you say and what you do will be said and done with authority because the Father will back it

3.      You want to speak with authority and power? This is how speak only the words of God

V.    John 3:35-How much spirit, how much power, how much authority you can be trusted with is determined by how well you say what you’re told to say and do what you’re told do

A.    If you want the Father to give you more to do, more to say, greater assignment, then prove yourself trustworthy by saying only what he tells you to say and doing only what he tells you to do

1.      1 Corinthians 4:2-To be trusted with more, it is required that you be found faithful

B.     God knew he could trust Jesus because he knew Jesus would only say and do what he was told

1.      The Father could trust Him with the spirit (the authority and the power), with any assignment (to say and do anything) and He knew he could trust Jesus because Jesus proved himself faithful over and over again by only doing and saying what He was told
