I.      2 Corinthians 5:17-21-To get a revelation of the authority of the believer and how to walk in that authority effectively we must get a revelation our ministry as Jesus’ ambassadors

A.    The authority of the believer has jurisdictional boundaries

1.      You can’t just do whatever you want with it

2.      It only works inside the confines of the jurisdictional boundaries that Heaven has established

B.     Authority is all about the backing; Authorized-Supported by authority---When somebody is authorized that means they have been given authority by a higher power and that higher power supports them and backs them in their action

1.      An ambassador goes into a foreign place and has the backing of the king or government that sent him

a.    The authority and power that king or government carries is what’s backing the ambassador

b.    When the ambassador goes to carry out the assignment he has be sent to carry out he has the authority and power (of his king and government) at his disposal to get his job done (and his king and government backs him)

c.     The ambassador represents the authority of the government or king he represents

2.      Our authority lies in this ambassador ministry; our authority lies in the truth that we’ve been sent by Jesus

a.    The fact that we are sent is what gives us authority (authorizes us)

b.    We have authority because of who sent us

3.      The only reason an ambassador has any power or authority in that foreign place is because of government who’s backing him; take away the backing and he’s a zero

a.    Authority is not what it is because of who has it, but because of who backs it

b.    The authority is not in the person himself, but it’s in what the person represents and who is backing the person; if you were to take the backing away there’s no power in the person

C.    What is an Ambassador? An authorized representative sent into a foreign place to preserve the interests and carry out the will of the one who sent him

1.      Definition

a.    A term of rank or office

b.    A minister of the highest rank employed by a king or government to manage the public concerns of his own king or government, and representing the power and dignity of his king or government 

c.     An accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country

d.    A person who acts as a representative

e.    One appointed for a diplomatic assignment

2.      What about an ambassador?

a.    An ambassador is one sent by His king

b.    An ambassador is an official representative of His King

c.     An ambassador represents the power of His king 

d.    An ambassador has an assignment in the place he’s been sent

e.    An ambassador is to preserve the interests and carry out the will of the one who sent Him

D.    We are ambassadors FOR Christ

1.      We are not from the Earth

a.    John 17:16-I’m not from Earth, I’m from Heaven sent into the Earth

b.    John 3:31-Jesus is from above and we are from above

c.     John 3:3-To be born again literally means to be born from above

d.    Philippians 3:20-We are citizens of Heaven (An U.S. ambassador sent to Japan is a citizen of the place he’s been sent from, not the place to which he has been sent)

2.      We have been sent by our King from Heaven into this foreign land called Earth-John 17:18

a.    The way Jesus was an ambassador of the Father, sent by the Father from Heaven into the Earth, I am an ambassador of Jesus, sent by Jesus from Heaven into the Earth

3.      We are official representatives of our King

a.    2 Corinthians 5:20-In Christ’s stead-In behalf of, For the sake of, filling the place of another

b.    We are here in the Earth in his behalf, for his sake, filling his place representing him

4.      We represent the authority power of our King-Matthew 28:18-20

a.    He has all the power and authority in Heaven and in Earth

b.    Go ye-That’s being sent

c.     Jesus says you go & my authority and power (which is all authority in Heaven & Earth) will back you

1)       Go ye therefore-Why go?-Because this authority and power will be backing you

d.    Jesus is saying I’m sending you and I’m backing you

e.    When I say in the name that means that I represent his power and authority

1)       When I say in the name of Jesus, that’s to say it is as if Jesus himself is standing here

f.      You might not look like much, but look who’s backing you

5.      We have an assignment from Heaven in the Earth to carry out God’s will-Hebrews 13:21

a.    We are here to preserve the interests and carry out the will of the one who sent us

II.     Jesus was an ambassador for God in the Earth – To walk in authority you have to have a “sent me” revelation

A.    To be sent of God is to have his backing and that’s what gives you authority

1.      Where God SENDS you and what God SENDS you to do that’s where you have authority and that’s what you have the authority to do

a.    If we can get a revelation of being sent, we’ll have an understanding of God’s backing and we will see clearly the level of authority we walk in

b.    If I can understand this word “sent” I can understand how to walk in my authority

2.      Jesus said over and over again that Father sent me (43 times in the gospel of John Jesus referenced being sent by the Father)–That means I have his backing, I have authority, I have been authorized and that’s why when I exercise my authority it works

a.    There’s power in being sent, there’s no power in went

B.     John 7:28-30-Ambassador Revelation #1-I’m not here by my own plan, my own design, my own will or by my own authority (I did not appoint myself to be here) --- It’s the revelation that you have been sent

1.      As an ambassador who walks in authority you to have the revelation I did not come of myself, I did not come on my own accord, as self-appointed, or on my own authority; this wasn’t my idea or plan

2.      John 8:42-“For I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.”

3.      The Father himself has personally sent me

C.    John 8:29- Ambassador Revelation #2-The one who sent me is with me and

1.      That means he’s backing me and supporting me here with everything necessary to succeed in what he’s called me to do

2.      The one who sends you is with you where he sends and in what he sends you to do; He’s not with you and backing you when you start doing your own stuff

3.      John 7:28-30-To walk in authority ambassador has to have the revelation of WHO sent him

D.    John 6:38-40- Ambassador Revelation #3-I am not here to do my will, but the will of the one who sent me

1.      The one sent was not sent to do what they want, but to do the will of the one who sent them

2.      To walk in authority have to get the revelation I’m not on Earth to do what I want or think, but to do what the One who sent me wants me to do

E.     John 8:16,26-29- Ambassador Revelation #4-The one who sent me will only back me and support me in what he has sent me to do (He doesn’t back my own stuff even if it seems to be him)

1.      Jesus said I’m not left alone and it’s because I do what I’m told and the Father backs it

a.    The one who sends you is with you where he sends and in what he sends you to do; that’s means he’s only backing you and supporting you in the place he’s sent you and in the action he’s commanded you

2.      The way to get left alone is to do what you want rather than doing what you were told to do

a.    The quickest way to be ineffective in authority is to be left alone and the quickest way to get left alone is to do what you want rather than what the Father told you to do 

b.    Without backing you’re ineffective and without precise obedience you have no backing

3.      An ambassador in another country can do nothing there of himself; Everything he is there, everything he has there, and everything he can do there is based on the backing he gets from home and if disobeys home, he loses the backing of home and he’s alone and can do nothing

a.    Well I thought it was a good idea is not an acceptable response

b.    16AMP,28-If you make decisions on your own and do stuff of yourself you will get left alone

c.     16-The decisions of an ambassador are only right when they are not alone in making their decisions

F.     John 9:4- Ambassador Revelation #5: I MUST works the works of him that sent me

1.      3-He said the works of God, not the works of Jesus because the Father does the works

2.      If you’re not going to do what you were sent to do, then what are you going to do because anything else you do won’t have any backing or authority or success

3.      An ambassador recognizes his need for backing and therefore he knows how crucial it is that he work the works of the one who sent him

G.   John 4:34- Ambassador Revelation #6: Fulfillment in life comes from doing only what the Father shows you to do and saying only what the Father tells you to say because that’s when you are effective and that’s when you get results and therefore we strive to do what the Father wants and to finish his works

1.      Being ineffective and not getting results leaves you unfulfilled-John 16:24

2.      Jesus strove to do what the Father wanted him to do; Jesus strove to finish HIS (the Father’s) work

3.      I think too often we’re striving to do what we think we should do and to finish our work

H.    Ambassador Revelation #7: Whatever I do and say I have to get it from the one who sent me first

1.      John 12:49-An ambassador doesn’t speak of himself or of his own authority or of his own accord, but the words he speaks he got them from the Father and the Father has commanded

a.    His commandment is life everlasting: When I do and say what he tells me to do and say zoe shows up and ruins the devils plans-John 1:4, 1 John 1:5

2.      John 7:16-17-The ambassador was not sent to say what he wants to say, to teach what he wants to teach & to be backed with authority he has to get the doctrine of the one who sent him & only say that

a.    The ambassador was not sent to push his own agenda, he gets the agenda from home and he pushes that one

b.    An ambassador only says what the one who sent him has told him to say-John 14:24

I.      John 3:32-Ambassador Revelation #8: I have to be able communicate with the one who sent me.  I have to be proficient at seeking him, hearing him, and seeing what he’s showing me 

1.      John 11:42-They have the revelation that You have made me Your messenger and if you are his messenger then when he gives you the message you better be able to hear it and receive it

J.     John 12:45-Ambassador Revelation #9: When you see me you see the one who sent me

1.      A good ambassador strives to replicate the one who sent him precisely

2.      Everything I do and everything I say I got from him and therefore I perfectly represent him

K.     John 6:57-Ambassador Revelation #10: I live by the One who sent me

1.      I live by the one who sent me and if I’ll only do what he tells me to do and only say what he tells me to say He’ll see to it that I’m powerful, strong, efficient and enjoy real life blessed in everyway

2.      The same way Jesus lived by the Father I live by Jesus
