It's Not All In God's Hands
I.
Everything that happens
in the Earth is not the will of God
A. Because God is not
all-controlling you can never discern His will by what happens or what doesn’t
happen on this Earth
1.
This
way of thinking that God is “sovereign” and in “total control” leads to a
belief that anything that happens in the Earth must be God’s will
2.
As
a result of this way of thinking a believing they then proceed to determine
God’s will by what does happen and what doesn’t happen and ignore God’s word
and His Spirit
3.
Knowledge
of God’s will, will elude the person who ignores His Word and His Spirit and
attempts to discern it by what does happen and doesn’t happen
B. God is not the only one
involved in determining whether or not his will comes to pass because you have
a will to and if you don’t choose His will for your life, then His will doesn’t
come to pass in your life-Hebrews 13:21
1.
We’ve
have developed a way of thinking that our healing, provision, our victory is in
his hands and all up to Him and He could do it anytime He wants…WRONG!!!
2.
Where
is your healing? Where is your victory? Where is your provision?
a. 2 Peter 1:3-There first
thing about it is that it’s being offered to you
1)
Rom5:18-Justification and right-standing with God is available
to all men, but not all are righteous
2)
Titus
2:11-The grace of God that brings salvation is being offered to every man
b. Deuteronomy 30:15,19-The
second that about it is that it is set before you
1)
MSG-Look
at what I’ve done for you today: I’ve placed in front of you Life and Good,
Death and Evil. I call Heaven and Earth to witness against you today: I place
before you Life and Death, Blessing and Curse.
2)
ERV-Today
I have given you a choice between life and death, success and disaster. Today I’m giving you a choice of two
ways. And I ask Heaven and Earth to
be a witness of your choice. You
can choose life or death.
3)
Deuteronomy
30:12-Your victory is not in Heaven and you don’t need somebody to go get it
for you and bring it to you because it is set before you
4)
The
blood has been shed, the price has been paid there’s nothing left that needs to
be done on God’s side so stop talking like there is and start exercising your
authority
c. 2 Peter 1:4-The third
thing about it is that it’s in the Word
d. Romans 10:8-The fourth
thing about it is that it’s in your heart and in your mouth
1)
Your
healing, your provision, your victory is not in God’s hands it’s in your heart
and your mouth and when you exercise your authority by believing and speaking
God’s word you’ll receive whatever you need
II.
By His own choice, God
confined himself to operate inside the boundaries of His Word
A. If God gave man dominion
over the Earth, then if God wants to do something in the Earth He has to get
permission from the man that He gave the dominion to
1.
Genesis
1:26,28-God gave man dominion over all the Earth
2.
Deuteronomy
30:15-God gave man the choice
3.
Psalm
115:16-God gave the Earth to man
4.
Psalm
8:6-God made man to have dominion over all the works of His hands
5.
2
Corinthians 4:4-Adam was the god of this world until he forfeited it to Satan
6.
Revelation
5:10-We are to reign as kings on the Earth
7.
Romans
5:17-We are supposed to reign as Kings in life
8.
John
10:34-God called us gods, rulers, divine ones
9.
Matthew
16:19-We have the authority and power of the Kingdom of Heaven
a. According to God the
binding and loosing done on the Earth is done by you, not Him
b. When I peer into Heaven
by faith I find what God wants in the Earth and I am authorized to bind and
loose accordingly
10.
Mark
11:23-You get what you say, not what God says
a. God can say it about you,
but your words carry more weight in your life than His
b. It did not say, “He will
have whatever God wants Him to have, because God is sovereign and he is not.”
11.
Luke
17:6-You speak to the mountain and it will obey you
12.
Matthew
17:20-Nothing in inline with the will of God for your life will be impossible
for you
13.
James
4:7-You resist the devil and He’ll flee
B. God is not controlling;
He chose in His sovereignty to never control men and He doesn’t want control;
In God’s sovereignty he chose to give you the controls
1.
Psalm
115:3, 135:6-What pleased the Lord was to let man choose; if it pleased Him to
be in total control of every man on the planet then he would have set this
thing up that way
C. He’s God,
He can do anything He wants? Is that the truth?
1.
Psalm
89:34-He can’t alter or change His word, He has to work inside the boundaries
of His word and therefore by His own choice He does not have the right to do
anything He wants even though he does have the might
2.
Authority means lawful-It is not
lawful for God (He does not have the authority/right) to override your will
because in doing so he violates His Word; It is outside of the legal right of
God’s word for God to override a man’s will
3.
In
His Word we see God giving man dominion, authority, a will, and the choice and
to force a man to do something or to take dominion back from the man would be
for God to violate His Word becoming an outlaw
a. If God gave you the
choice and told you to choose then it’s not His choice; for Him to make it His
choice is for Him to change and violate His Word
III.
God has no right to come
into your life and do something that you have not given Him the permission to
do; it’s not his choice. In your
life God can only do what you allow.
A. God will never override
your will to perform His will
1.
EX:
I’ve found that people who don’t believe in healing aren’t healed even though
it’s God’s will; People who don’t believe in prosperity aren’t prosperous even
though it’s God’s will; People who don’t believe in praying in the Spirit
aren’t praying in the spirit even though it’s God’s will
2.
Even
thought those things are His will for everybody, He will not make people
receive what He wants them to have
B. You have dominion and if
God wants to do something in your life, then He has to get authorization from
you to do it
1.
2
Chronicles 16:9-God is looking for permission
a. Why is God looking for
the people with a perfect heart? Because it is those to whom He has the
permission to show Himself strong in their behalf
1)
The
only areas of your life that God can be strong in are those that you have allwed him to through faith and obedience in that area
a) The more you follow God
and live by faith in every area of your life the more you’ll see God get
involved in every area of your life (Sleep, Finances, Marriage)
2)
The more God has of you,
the more permitted He is to be strong in your life-John 14:21
b. God’s looking for
permission because there is only certain places “HE CAN” (He only has
permission in certain places so he’s looking for places HE CAN)
1)
It’s
not God saying, “I won’t show myself strong in your behalf until your heart is
perfect towards me or until I have all of you,” it’s God saying, “I can’t show
myself strong in your behalf until your heart is perfect towards me or until I
have all of you.”
2)
If
God’s attitude is “I WON”T,” then that’s turns your acts into works, but if
God’s attitude is “I CAN’T,” then that turns your acts into faith
3)
God’s
giving you the authority and He CAN’T come in until you get in faith and that
includes obeying Him and yielding to Him
2.
Revelation
3:20-God is saying if you will open the door and grant me permission I will
come in and be your God
a. IF YOU WILL, THEN I CAN because I ALREADY
WILL --- IF YOU WON’T, then I CAN’T, even though I WILL TO
b. God is knocking because
he needs permission because you have the authority
1)
Many
people say He’s God and He can just knock the door down if He wants, but I
submit to you if He did that He would be violating His word; So No he has no
right to knock the door down
3.
Grace
is a person and there is no authorization for grace where there is no faith
C. The authority to grant or
deny God access lies in the hands of the believer
1.
Have
you given God the permission through faith and obedience to do what you desire
him to do in your life? If God hasn’t done something in your life ask yourself
the question, “Can He? Have I given Him the permission to do it through faith
and obedience?”
a. Faith and obedience is
what grants God permission, not begging, crying, and wishing
2.
Ephesians
3:20-God is able to do according to the power that works in you---What God can
or can’t do is affected by you and something working in you
a. The working if His
ability is according to something; it’s not just according to what He wants
b. God’s ability to “do” in
your life will be enhanced or limited by the power working in you
1)
The
power that’s working in you is determining what He can do (or can’t do)
2)
“He can do whatever he
wants.” Can he? Or is it according to something
c. Power-Moral power and excellence of the soul
1)
Moral
power-The ability to do what is right (in character and in the fight of faith)
2)
Excellence
of the soul-A mind guarded and renewed the word, Emotions held in check not
moving you away from the Word, Choices everyday in line with the Word
3)
The
soul is the battlegrounds of faith and to operate in excellence of the soul is
to win the faith fight on that level
d. 3 John 2-God can’t
prosper you above or beyond the level of the prosperity of your soul---God is
getting His instructions for your life from you, by looking at your soul
e. Proverbs 23:7-God can’t
make you something outside that you aren’t inside and can’t give you something
outside that you don’t have inside; he’s limited to what you have inside
f.
This
excellent soul, where your faith is high, your heart is soft, your life is
yielded is where God has permission and he’s able to do according to this
3.
Mark
9:22-23-This situation was not going to be determined by Jesus’ might or
compassion, but rather by this man’s willingness to give Jesus the right
a. He’s trying to put in the
lap of Jesus’ ability/might and compassion
b. Jesus lays it right back
in the lap of his faith
4.
Numbers
13,14:26-35-God wanted that generation in the promise land; that was His will
and although he possessed the might to get them in, He had no right to do
something for them that they wouldn’t give Him permission to do
a. Their soul was not excellent, but Joshua and Caleb’s were
b. The only ones with the
authority to keep them out of the promise land was them
